Got super glue on the dash 😭 Looking for advice

Model builder here.

For textured surface, 1part baking soda, 1part vegetable oil. Mix that together and let it sit on the spot for as long as you want 2+ hrs at least. Then take a regular sponge to it and scrub. Should come right off.

If there is still some left take a rubber eraser to whats left and it should peel off

I might give this a shot since it sounds the safest on the dash material..

Baking soda and Vinegar tastes better. Put food coloring in it first.

This is the first time I've heard of using it with oil as an adhesive remover.
Checks out, though. Google is my friend.
Definitely going to try it next time I need it

Why does super glue only work well when you don't want it to??

My primary use of super glue is permanently attaching the super glue cap to the super glue bottle.

I know of a place you can get some mayo..

To the OP:

Be VERY careful using solvents on plastic. Test in a hidden area first.

I've had great results using food oils (olive, canola) and a toothbrush. Drip some oil on and gently scrub for a while. Same idea as the mayo but less smell.

I wouldn't go any harsher than acetone as far as solvents go.

Heat also does wonders to loosen off this type of glue. Be careful though.

That actually works to get bumper stickers off too. The oils in the mayo will penetrate the vinyl allowing the sticker to almost fall off. I bet it won't do anything for super glue.

Be very careful with the suggestions here as anything that can dissolve super glue is likely to dissolve plastics as well. There is a decent chance that you will make things worse trying to get it off.

Hello everyone,

Looking for some advice..

So.. we managed to get super glue spilled on the dash.. .. Long story(dying inside)

We tried isopropyl immediately with no success. My wife tried nail polish remover on a qtip and it just turned the glue white. I tried some goo gone and it seemed to help a little but still looks crappy.

im going to stop throwing chemicals at it before it gets worse or I accidentally strip the coating off the dash.

any advice would be appreciated.

Lemon essential oil might remove it without doing any more damage

Dude ! I am so sorry for you, but I think you're STUCK with it .... LOL, I don't have anything good to add, I usually have to sand down whatever I use it on, but that wont help here.
