Handmade Paracord Grab Handles

Ive been tying Paracord projects for a really long time now. My ego wouldn't allow me to pay for someone elses grab handles. I finally stumbled across a close match for the sandstone interior.

Quck tutorial. YouTube U has alot of videos on tying the cobra knot.
30" Black Paracord fused together.

Approx 5' (2x) Black Paracord. Begin cobra knot leaving a 1.25" loop in the end. Keep tying until a 1.25" loop is in the other end.

Once finished, cut 3' accent color and 3' the same color as the core. Measure down a hands width. Begin new series of cobra knots. Keep tying until there's Approx hands width of core remaining. Cut and fuse ends. Get the sink tap super hot and run under faucet to set the cord.

Install per normal.

Hope this made some sense. People complain about floppy handles. This design solves that. They don't hang down too far either, based on the above recipe.

I just finished mine today as well! Went with Nylon webbing and grommets for the skeleton though.

Thank you. I've made bracelets, hat bands, lanyards, knife sheaths, coffee cup handles (stupid difficult), and yes I've taught more than a few Scouts how to do it. Keeps me sane.

I appreciate the feedback. I got to thinking how much I would have to charge for these. I started doing a competitive analysis, and knew I had a product just as good as bartact. However, it appears Lone Wolf Survival beat me to the market with the same design. There’s no way I can beat their price. Paracord is CHEAP, but tying it is time consuming, and Lone Wolf is right at what I thought about charging. Really, anyone can make these, especially with the recipe I provided for about $10.

I made my own as well. This was my first variation. I ended up making some with white in them as well. I have an oxford white sasquatch. Get some of these and wrap the paracord around it. I have a video I've never posted on the actual weaving if anyone is interested.

In the OP version and the Lonewolf versions, there aren't any end grommets - do these simply fit under the screws (doesn't seem like there is much to hold onto) or do you attach eyelets to the roof and then the cord to the eyelets?

The end loop is just big enough to fit under the washer. I guess time will tell if machine screws eat the paracord. I imagine I might be able to fasten a grommet in the loop. I wouldn’t trust sheet metal or wood screws not to eat paracord, but machine threads seemed benign enough. I don’t even think I need to redesign if I wanted to add grommets for safety. Pondering. . .

Those straps certainly make things easier. I also believe bartact has an inner paracord core against the strapping for extra body.
