I ordered a 24 WT in August. I really wanted the MIC top, but ordered the soft top, in hopes of getting it in 2024. Would switching my order to the MIC top basically sabotage any hopes of seeing this in 2024? Thanks in advance

I don't think you can get a definitive answer on this. Demand is not what it once was and if it were me, I'd order what I want with full expectations that I'd see it in 24. What dealer did you order from by chance? I'm in Rock Hill and my 2 door was ordered in January of 22 and delivered in October of 22.

It's a crap shoot. For '23 my ordering I held out for the hardtop because that's what I wanted, even with the Ford pressure to drop constrained items and the threat of another year of waiting. I was miraculously scheduled before the model year reset and got exactly what I wanted.

Also that softtop 😬

Another vote for order what you really want. I'm glad I stuck it out for a hard top. My calculus was: a hard top is a $600 option from the factory (it was at that time. I believe it's more now), but it's a $6,000 option after market. If you can even get one.

Sometimes I wish I could just flip the top open, but I do find myself taking the panels off more and more now that the weather is nicer.

I dont think ordering a hardtop will delay your order but you should check with your dealer regarding constraints. My Hardtop started delaminating (cracking)6 months after bringing it home and the dealer placed a warranty claim in and they are quoting a week for delivery of the new top.

Soft tops in general are an acquired taste. I drove a soft top Wrangler for 7 years and it was a love hate affair. It was great having the top down most of the year on the SoCal coastal roads. I hated its guts on the Utah trails where the red dust gets into every crevice and jamps zippers. I also despised it on the highway, where it was noisy and gave you a pounding headache after a 10 hr day on the road. Switched back to a hard top after 7 years and I will never, ever own a soft top in my life again. If that meant never getting a Bronco I would have gladly never gotten a Bronco. In fact I would have been happier if the Bronco was a fixed top vehicle with reduced road/wind noise.

The Bronco sagtop is particularly unpleasant to look at. Not sure how it performs in dusty desert environments. I did rent a SAS BL with soft top a while back for a weekend and it was notably noisier than a Wrangler on the highway - unpleasantly so.

There are people who love them, and there are people like me who hate them passionately. The only way to know is to rent one from Turo for a long weekend and see how you feel about it.

In the "get what you want camp". Getting aftermarket top will set you back 5~7k. Ask me how I know. Now if you really really like the soft top, it's not an issue.

The speed of production is so up in the air now, I would not let that factor into things.

Made the switch. Thanks for the support. Dealer just said it was gonna be a minute regardless. They are still building 23’s, and dealing with the strike. So basically either way it’s gonna be awhile. Like you all said

I have a ‘23 BL with soft top; yielded to pressure from Ford to give up on SAS, LUXE, WT, and MIC HT. not a fan of the soft top. Not as noisy as I expected, but a pain to lift the back to get larger items in the back. Don’t like the wrinkled rear side “windows,” or not having wipers/ washers for the rear “window.” After dusty trails can barely see out the rear view mirror. Have the ‘24 WT I actually wanted on order—within minutes of order banks opening. Sales guy counseled me to hang in there and expect to get my WT in ‘24. Waited for the BL for 102 weeks. Love the BRONCO, for sure…soft top, not so much…

It's far cheaper to order the hard top with the Bronco than to try and add one later.

Where are you on the Dealer's list of orders vs allocations?

A consolation prize is that (hopefully) that's a very nice top.

I don’t have an idea of where I stand. Just told that I was early enough to be within their allocations. Other than an email by Ford saying they got my order, I’ve heard nothing. Whenever I make a change, the dealer quickly replies and gets an updated order to me in writing.

Get exactly what you want. Wait as necessary. Ordered my 2021 Bronco with hardtop. Changed when they were having issues and offered full setup for future hardtop. Thing's were different then and deliveries were delayed for both inability of hardtop production and quality issues. From all I've read, fewer and less frequent delays today. Happy I have a 2021, but ordered an aftermarket top to paint match, don't really care for the OEM Color and Materials. Couldn't get a hardtop from Ford even if I wanted one. Took 23 weeks from order to produce the Anderson Composite Top I ordered, mine is shipping this week. Love my Bronco, don't like Fords inability to get hardtops produced for those of us that helped them out to allow deliveries of units in 2021 & 2022.
