Hello all, I did a brief search of the forums and didn't see any discussions on this. I've had my Bronco for about a week but it wasn't until last night that I noticed my headlights are staying on for approx 10 mins after I turn off the vehicle. I went into light settings and set the timer to 20 seconds, which I thought might be the fix but it had no effect. Is anyone else experiencing this or have a suggestion to fix?

If you turn your lights manually to on I think this is correct. If you leave it in auto the timer should come into effect.

I've got them on auto which is why I thought setting the timer to 20 seconds would be my fix.

I'm having the same issue but it is sporadic...some days the lights go off with the ignition, other days they stay on. I'm set on auto-mode. I hadn't paid much attention to it thinking that it had something to do with the key FOB being in the vehicle or in my pocket. Now you have me scratching my head.

I was thinking the same thing regarding either the key fob or my phone still connected, so the vehicle thought I was close and it set to keep lights on??

That is what I was thinking as well...I'm just not sure if that is normal designed operation. I'll have to try couple spearmints when I get home.

fair number of people complain that their knee hits the knob and turns it to on when they exit the vehicle. It will automatically reset to AUTO at each restart to my understanding, maybe take a good look at the setting after you exit next time or two?

The other day mine kept doing the double honk even though I had the key in my hand and out of the car. I went back and made sure it was off. Then locked the doors, exited the bronco and shut the door and got the double honk again.
So I went inside the store and when I came back out I noticed my radio was still on and playing. Weird weird weird.

My Bronco is also keeping the headlights on for quite a while. Hope Ford gets it figured out and fixed soon! I don't need a dead battery when it is -30 this winter

Ford is developing a new headlamp switch for Bronco and F150 for various issues including staying on or turning on when the vehicle is off. Expected availability is sometime this fall.

From the other site:

“SSM 50842 - 2021-2022 Bronco - Headlamps Turn On
By Themselves When Vehicle Is Off - DTC B1533
Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a
condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the
vehicle is OFF and have diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
B1533stored in the body control module (BCM). This
may be due to the internal logic within the headlamp
switch. Switch and/or module replacement will not
resolve this condition. Headlamp operation is not
affected while the vehicle is ON. A new headlamp
switch is currently under development to correct this
condition. Let the customer know they can continue to
drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up
appointment in October 2022, when parts are
expected to become available. Follow up with the
customer to confirm the appointment once OASIS is
updated with the repair information.

I have that gremlin as well. I have found that for me, turning the headlight switch to "off" once I get out seems to fix it. Your results may vary...

Some times the headlights turn themselves on after I have left the garage, and all doors closed. If the headlights stay on all night some day, will it drain the battery to empty? Does the LED lights use less electricity to last overnight and keep enough power for me to start the Bronco in the next morning?

I suspect sometimes the Bronco have turned its headlights not only on but also off behind us. Otherwise it should have drained the battery a few times over the last 6 months.

Are we expecting a recall on the problem?

I have a camera in my garage. After shutting off the bronco and leaving the area, 3 hours later i get an alert there is motion in garage. Yup, lights turn on by themselves. Stay on for 10 minutes. Then shut off.

Fix supposed to happen in October. We`ll see

They should power off after 10 min if car is off
