Is it normal to have a small amount of heat come out out of the dash vents when I have only the floor vents on? It is not blowing hard out of the dash but I still have to turn the vents away from me because it feels uncomfortable. I have the manual control HVAC system.

I am leery of taking it to the dealer for warranty unless I have to. The one time I took it in for warranty work, they had it for 9 weeks.

Mine definitely has a mind of its own. If I switch from defrost or dash vents to floor it takes a while. Defrost continues to put out until i turn the whole system off and back on with the fan on high. Like the damper doesn’t switch over at low pressure. 🤔

It’s best is to just close your vents if it still blows on you.

The HVAC in general has a mind of its own
This is absolutely no joke. Mine seems to think that when I turn the recirc on in anticipation for ridiculously dusty conditions, what I really want is to turn the recirc off once I'm in the thick of it. So it goes ahead and does that for me.

Blocking the a pillar vents helps a lot with floor/rear seat vents. Can’t do anything about the recirc, or the fact that the sensing detector is down by the driver knee and gets wonky

Thank you to the 3D printing crew who have a print file for a plug available in the 3D printer thread

Heh I’ve been afraid to ask and never bothered to research. But the HVAC behavior is so odd. I ask for heat, heat doesn’t come. Unless I really crank it high. Turn down heat, heat still on.

Same thing with AC. Sometimes it just blows cold even if AC is off.

Floor vents don’t actually seem to function.

Dash vents always blow air.

And what are the three indicator settings on the Auto button? Just blower speed? We already have a big tactile switch for that. It’s an unusual system.

My issue seems to have been temporary. It no longer has any air coming out of the dash vent when only the floor vents are on. Hopefully, the self fix is permanent.

one more question:

Does anyone know at what point the heater electrical supplemental stuff turns off?

A certain engine temp?
A certain cabin temp and setting?
Is it ever fully off?

I like the old heater style of only using the engine coolant. I'm tough enough to wait 5 minutes for the vents to blow warm air.

and mine too is haunted. Sometimes the floor vents seem to work, sometimes not.

My 2025 immediately sends out warm air on cold morning startups. I asked the dealership if it had electrical heating in there and was told yes.
If it doesn't, I'm amazed at how fast it warms up the heater system.
