Figured I would post. I converted my reservation to an order this weekend. I decided to stay with Huntersville Ford. I worked with Keith Hoffield the GM and he was great to work with. They were willing to work with me and they gave me good offer on my trade, even forward looking to the time that I will actually bring it in. They are asking for a $500 deposit, which seems fair to me. Keith was very transparent and up front. My order is below:

4-door Badlands
MIC
2.7L
Area51
Lux
Tow Package
I converted with Huntersville Ford this weekend as well. It took awhile to get ahold of someone as has been mentioned, but I agree that Keith has been great to work with once getting his attention, I'm glad I stayed there. They processed the order extremely quickly and were able to handle it all remotely.

Where are you in their allotment? They indicated that they have several hundred reservations and they think their allotment will be around 80, but so far they have a number of people not converting so the list is moving up.

To Broadi's post, I'm not defending them, but I also see their position when faced with a lot of reservations down the list definitively trying to convert and put down deposits not knowing where they'll fall in 21 vs 22, with folks up towards the front of the line indecisively holding a spot. Again not defending them if they are doing something improper, but the reservations have been pending since July so I understand their shit or get off the pot approach to keep the overall process moving.

I know I've seen some others from NC in various threads. I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area and have reserved a 2 door OBX at Crossroads Wake Forest.

Where are you in NC, what are you getting and what dealership have you reserved with?
Apex, NC. Ordering a Badlands from Crossroads Ford in FV.

I finally (since August) heard back from Huntersville where my 2nd, later res is at.
I even emailed them about a week before solidifying my day 1 res at an out of state place with no reply.
I told them I had a day #1, currently out of state but would be more than willing to transfer to them IF they could reply, in writing, that they would have no ADM, no required add-ons such as paint protection, and to state what their Doc fee would be.
Told them I wanted to pay for the vehicle, destination, taxes, tags, and Doc fee of $150 only, as that is the deal I have elsewhere. If they would match it, I would transfer and order from them.
Nothing.
So now a few weeks after converting to order that day #1 res (out of state), they call me last night about my res I have with them, guy on the line says
"Hey, calling to see if we can convert that."
"Well, it's my 2nd one and I'm unsure yet if I am going to convert it. I have until March to make my mind up for sure. I tried to get you guys to get my earlier res, but you wouldn't respond. I've sent 4 emails to you at various times since August and called twice with no one to return any of it. I'll let you know."
"Well, then it looks like we are going to skip you, and you will lose your place in line if you don't convert today."
I laughed a bit and said " no, that's not how that works. it is based on reserve timestamp, not order timestamp, and I have until March."
"No sir, you don't. If you don't convert tonight you will not only lose your place but we will cancel your reservation."
"Oh really?! You don't have the right to cancel my reservation without my approval. If it is cancelled I will be on the phone with Ford first, your manager 2nd. I have until March to decide what I want to do with the 2nd one. I can assure you now it won't be with Huntersville now. If I see it is cancelled I will drive down there and talk with the GM after I place a call to Ford. You may want to brush up on how this is supposed to play out with reservists and what rights they have before making any more calls."

I wish I had gotten his name.
Keep us posted.

From Concord, but will not be reserving. I'm gonna wait until the hype dies down, and enjoy my Jeep a bit longer. Plus, I'm one of those that have to actually see what I'm buying before I purchase. My first dealer check will be with Hilbish Ford in Kannapolis. I've been dealing with them for years, and they have always given me the best price. And, I expect that to continue.

As far as trim I'm almost set on the Black Diamond. But, it's between that trim, and the Outer Banks. Concerning the color I'm like others as I can't tell what color Area 51 actually is right now, because it seems to depend on what picture looking at. If it leans to what used to be called "Baby" or "Powder" blue I'm in, but if not it's back to the drawing board.
OK, just an update on the ramblings of a lunatic. After much consideration, and learning more about the Bronco I've done a complete 180. I found that if I wait until I see one, I won't get one until probably 2023. I ain't a young man no more, and I like to get it before the DMV talks my license. :)

Reserved: 10/04/20
Dealer: Granger Ford
OBX 4 door
Race Red
Roast interior (brown)
Shadow Black top
2.7L with of course an auto
Built in Navigation
Tow Package
Floor Liners

BTW, I checked with my local dealer (Hilbish Ford) that I've done a ton of business with. When I ask about pricing the look on the sales guys face didn't give me any warm, and fuzzies. So went with Granger and their 2K under invoice. We plan on making the pick up of the Bronco into a long road trip.

Maybe at some point we can get all of us Tar Heel boys, and girls together to show off our Broncos.

Edit 02/12/21: In true form, and my constant problems with making a decision this build has changed. I'm not surprised, and I knew when I typed the above I would still be way out in the tall grass. I have dropped the built-in navigation, and will go ahead with the Lux package (that has the Nav). There are several things that I know full well I will miss (have them on my Jeep) if I don't add them to the Bronco. And, If I miss the ACC, the upgraded radio (B&O), and the heated steering wheel I'll never be 100% happy with my new Bronco. In for a penny, in for a pound. :)

And ladies! 😉
Oops, my bad Laura. It's not like me to mess something like that up. Please don't tell the wife. I'd be in so much trouble. :)

Fixed it........

I can't even remember if I've posted that my order is in. 🤦‍♀️. Ended up moving it to Leonardtown in MD.

2 Dr Badlands, 2.7 auto, Velocity Blue, High package and the upgraded wheels

I'll probably get the canvas Bimini top and the car cover.

I wanted to get the paint protection film from the factory but diagrams on the forum show it doesn't cover much. Does anyone have a place in the Raleigh area that they recommend?

Assuming you went manual we'll be car twins minus the tow hitch.

I did go with the high gloss aluminum wheels though.

Laura, I found my Xpel installer by doing a google for them in my area, and then reading the reviews. I'm also going to have my Bronco done by the same business. Remember, the experience of the installer is as important as the quality of material you choose.

IF you could share their info it might drive some business their way.
I've never applied it but am considering it.
I do vinyl on a smaller scale and paint/resto work.
If the price is right sometimes it makes sense just to take it to the people who do it all the time, though.
Experience costs what it does for a reason.
I'd be interested to know as well.

@broadicustomworks

Here ya go Dave. Charles, and Jessica are local owners and great folks on top of that. I've had them apply Xpel to my wife's Mustang, my Jeep, and our Corvette. Like you say, it ain't cheap. But, they stand behind there work 100%. We had a problem with the left front fender on the Jeep where the front of the fender turns down. He had a heck of a time getting the stuff to conform around the lip. But, he didn't stop until it was right, and said if that didn't work, bring it back. It's been fine for over a year now.

He did a full wrap on a Lamborghini, and that thing turned out beautiful.
