I have the Roush performance ditch light kit which uses the diode dynamic lights and I am having trouble understanding their instructions. It says to cut the wire harness at the relay(I have the upfitter switches) but if I cut it there I will have 2 separate wires. This is the harness that was supplied:

Have to admit the instructions are kinda vague.

But.

If it were me, I would cut right here, that should expose the red/black wire they talk about. Everything to the right of that cut can go in the trash.

Black wire goes to chassis ground (there is a ground on the sill right above where the upfitter wires are / below the windshield wiper). The Red goes to your upfitter switch wire.

Thanks for your reply, there is no single wire, if I cut it at the relay I will have 2 separate wires that go to the lights.

Oh I see what you mean.

Not a huge deal. each of those wires should have a red and black. Take both of the blacks to chassis ground: you can crimp a ring terminal to each wire and stack them on the post (some people don't like stacking terminals, I won't judge), or crimp both wires together in a single terminal (I don't really like doing that, it's harder to get them tight and odds of failure are higher) - or you can take both wires, splice them to a third wire (see the red wire below for a way to do that), and then take that third newly spliced wire to a ring terminal to chassis ground - bit more complicated that way, but cleaner.

For the reds. Both reds go to your Upfitter switch (assuming you want both on the same switch, you could split them if you wanted independent left/right control). Take both of the reds and go to your single upfitter switch wire - I would either solder and heat shrink or use a 3-wire WAGO connector and then tape over it, but there are other more automotive-friendly options, like a T-Tap connector.

Correct. That would have gone to your battery, but your aux switches provide their own power so it's not needed.

Just make your life easy and grab our harness

SS3 (Non-Backlit) harness: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/crysta...ors-diode-dynamics-rigid-industries-morimoto/

SS3 (With Back-lit) harness: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/crysta...arness-2x-dt-4-pin-connectors-diode-dynamics/

Connects to the lights and the other end goes to your upfitters. Nice and easy. NO need to cut things out/splice anything/etc....

It's included with our A-Pillar kits btw.

DO NOT use Wagos on your vehicle. They are not designed for automotive use.
