Hi all - Need some guidance fast. Installing my Warn VR EVO 10 and had to open the control box to attach the ground wire for the Bluetooth connector.

When I got the lid off I noticed there was an unattached wire.See picture. It does not look like it’s frayed and is actually clean cut. But it could have snapped off.

Does anyone know if this should be connected? Or is it loose from the factory?

Everything is nicely color coded. It does look like a clean cut….unused wire. Was it possibly “landed” under the large green (green heatshrink) cable, which I assume is the ground?

Isn‘t there a wiring diagram?

No wiring diagram. But my wife found this video demonstrating a control box relocation and noticed that wire was not connected in his Warn either.

Check about the 6min mark. Here’s a screen cap:

That, I believe, is the built-in wireless antenne for the built-in wireless capabilities your EVO 10 comes with. No need to buy an extra bluetooth unit. I have the EVO 12. It works wireless straight out of the box.

Miller, this is what I was instructed to buy.
Pretty sure my wife just threw away the packaging so I’m not even sure I could return it. 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️ What did you use to get wireless functionality?

Do you have the remote that came in the EVO 10 box? That looks to be the Bluetooth controller? My local shop also said I needed an additional controller - they just don't know what they're selling us.

The original controller should have a button with a wireless symbol above it?

All that came with mine was a wired controller.

That remote should work just plug the receiver into the remote plug on the winch and hold both buttons on the remote for 3 seconds to turn it on. Sucks that you have to purchase separately something that everyone else includes standard.
