I'd also try a different dealer.

You can do it yourself with the right equipment. Obviously the key part of that sentence is with the right equipment.

But agree with @CalvinT ... try a different dealer. Helped a guy at my local cars & coffee do an install, and his dealer was willing to do the programming step for $80 as long as he did the physical install.

I thought all new Broncos came with the harness already installed to the rear bumper. You should take a look. You'll need the receiver, the 4/7 plug, and the tow module + programming. Should be around $500 installed. And don't forget the in cab brake controller if your trailer has brakes.

The dealer I purchased from quoted me nearly $1400 to install the hitch kit and wiring. I laughed, showed the sales guy the kit on the ford.com/accessories page. I left with my Bronco and then ordered the part and prepaid the install from a dealer an hour away for $500ish total on the website. I applied some points which took the price down a bit.

Are you sure you need the wiring? Dealership tried to tell me the same thing on my 24 OBX until I walked them outside and showed them the wiring was already there from the factory.

I got the hitch and wiring included in the purchase of my '25. I have not installed it yet. the dealer wants $450 to do the wiring and "programming".

In my '24, the hood to rear-quarter panel wiring was already in place. There's basically a $500 kit with a module that needs to plugged in behind the driver's side cargo trim and the receiver install behind/under the bumper. There's also some tow mode activation programming to be done.

Took under an hour at the dealer.

This is the way. I just did it. Not all dealers were listed as an installer but for 500 plus 191 for included install I was on my way. The dealer has to honor that price. For 191 it kept me off the garage floor, was warranty work, and all the programming was done.

Shops that sell and service travel trailers and motor homes are often very handy at vehicle hitch install and wiring, the latter being the expensive part if the vehicle is not pre-wired. Also, vehicle accessory shops (bed liners, tonneau covers) are often skilled in this. Each town has a good one, ask around or scout about.

Your 2025 is prewired from the factory. It comes with a front-to-rear body wiring harness that supports trailer lighting, even if the hitch isn’t installed. However, the actual 4-pin or 7-pin connector is not installed unless you have the factory tow package. There is a capped connector tucked behind the rear bumper (driver side frame rail area) that a 4/7 plug connects into.

@RoverDude did a step-by-step thread back in July 22 that a lot of forum users have followed. It includes the part numbers you need. Link here: Rover Dude's Thread on Self-Installing the Hitch Also includes the Forscan codes to be changed.

It is not hard to install the hitch and modules yourself. I did mine and had no problems.

Since you are prewired, you can skip the wiring section of his tutorial.

I bought my hitch and 4/7 plug off Amazon. Bought the tow module from Ford using their 20% discount promo. Getting the Forscan software and license was easy. I did this part first to make it immediately usable. 6 months later when I needed the controller, I bought the Redarc brake controller using a Black Friday promo (they do several promos, just have to watch for them.)

My wife and I just installed our own from internet. $200 for hitch and wire kit. Make sure you get LED capable if the bronco has them. Our dealer wanted $700 BEFORE install labor. GTFOHWTS

Will the independant shops know how to program after the wiring and hitch install?
