I've read so many conflicting posts, I just want to make sure what I'm looking at will fit on a base four door. I don't want to remove anything or add a lift at this time.
I'm looking at 17 x 8.5 wheel +35 offset with a 285/70/17 tire. I don't want any or very minimal poke. Will this work without rubbing? What's the biggest setup I could do?
Let's see some pictures and set ups of base models without any other changes other than wheels and tires.

Yes those 33ā€ tires will work with no additional modifications needed, so long as you have the +35mm offset. I donā€™t have any pics but there are tons on ā€œPage 1, Post 1ā€ of this sub forum. You can also Google keywords ā€œbronco 33ā€ +35 offsetā€ for additional info/photos.

Sincerely,

This is definite:
285/75R16 will fit your stock steel wheels
285/70R17 will fit any stock 17" wheels at +55 with no poke
285/70R17 will fit without mods at +30 but will poke slightly (1/5" of tread)

From what I've seen others do:
285/75R17 will fit stock 17" wheels at +55 with no poke
35x10.5R17 will fit 17" +35mm wheels with no real poke, sidewall, not tread

That's what I thought, but one of the vendors from this site that I'm working with didn't think it would fit, so I wanted to be sure before I ordered.
Good luck with your reservation.

I ran 285/70/17s on my stock big bend rims for a minute. Zero rub, crash bars in place.

Then I went to 35s :)

Thanks! My ETA is 3/16!

After extensive research, I have decided to go with 285/70/17 KO2ā€™s on +18mm wheels. This will give me the amount of poke that I am looking for. It will also allow me to stick with the stock suspension while leaving the crash bars in place without tire rub. I also worry about how well my 2.3L engine with 3.73 gearing would pull 35ā€™s.

I had a tough time finding someone with an offset other than 0mm to +35 so here is a video that I found of a Base model with 33ā€™s on 17ā€ +18mm offset wheels:

I have same tire size on Sasquatch wheels - fits great. Wouldnā€™t go any larger due to gearing and transmission.
