The vehicle is price protected, options and equipment are going to constantly change so I don't think it can apply to everything.

Now that Ford has announced that TurDuckEn thing as a standard bumper (Capable? POS) ..... will it cost extra to keep what Ford originally offered (Modular Bumper) as standard?

I'll sell you my MOD bumper for half price. I plan on getting a winch bumper as soon as I get my Bronco (which as of now has a build date of next week...). I already have my winch, just need to find a bumper I like (that works with the front camera).

Hopefully the price protection actually does what it should and we should be able to "upgrade" to what we were originally promised for no extra charge. I am in the same boat.

If ford says the capable bumper is standard instead of the modular it will cost you extra to keep the modular. You ordered a BD with standard features if the standard features change then you will have to pay extra for anything that isn’t standard.

Price protection is more than likely got to work like this:

2021 Black diamond w/standard equipment is $35,000
Add SAS for $5,000
Add MID for $1,800

So that's the price you’d pay for the same bronco in 2022 if you have price protection.

Where as a 2022 Black diamond w/standard equipment may be $37,000
Add SAS for $6,000
Add MID $2,200

Keep in mind that standard equipment will change and will be factored into the price. That would also fall in line with a similarly equipped Bronco. This could be completely wrong but this is the way I envision it will happen.

I'll second this reply. This seems to be the most likely scenario for MY22.

I'll second this reply. This seems to be the most likely scenario for MY22.

All I can say is that is NOT price protection then.

Looks like the 2022MY modular bumper retail runs:

$825 (? I assume to upgrade from base?)
$575 (in lieu of steel)

As i read this, to maintain my 2021 Badlands order with modular bumper into 2022 model year will cost me an additional $575 out of pocket. Is this how others see this?

Price Protection covers the extra for the Modular Bumper upgrade even if you don't choose to get it.

For 2-door Black Diamond, new base is $400 more plus $575 for upgrade to modular bumper = $975 more which is the amount of the price protection certificate from Ford for that version.
