I think its going to depend on your dealer. I had one with the dealer I bought from sit for about a month. I waited until the next weekend to pick mine up (about a week). Usually its more a matter of how soon we can pick it up as it takes a few hours to get them ready for sale.

What happens if they are taking a while? I’m wondering because there is one in limbo now that I am dying for!

You can ask the dealer about it. I had 8 people wanting mine if I declined receipt and 5 just saw it that day. Worst they can say is sorry its on hold now.

Its going to depend on the dealer. For declined orders the dealership wanted a $1000 deposit. I don't believe anyone put a deposit on mine it was just first come first serve. I only heard about it because I talked with the sales manager.

I ended up just ordering mine and got it in 4 months. I suppose I am just lucky though.

Are there any legal things a dealership can do if someone is just not picking it up and haggling over price? It’s like it’s being held hostage. They are good people, and have given her a number of days already, but I went with cash in hand… It’s a fine line, I know.

I suppose it would depend on if a deposit were taken or not, and what is within the deposit contract. If they took money from her there is likely a grace period within the contract they signed to agree to her getting the vehicle. If they did not take money than I am not sure. Likely differs by state and I am definitely not a lawyer.

Why don’t you just ask the dealership? We can only guess but they can give you the answer.

Yup, I have been - they have been great, but I don’t think have ever dealt with anything like this before. I was asking the crew here in case maybe someone went through something similar.
