I thought I would just buy someone's takeoff wheels but goddamn these people are posting their takeoffs for 3k!!! Am I being cheap? Or are they being a little crazy?

No you’re not being cheap at all. At that rate you may as well buy aftermarket stuff. New takeoffs from wranglers were typically around $1000-$1200 once the market became saturated if I remember correctly.
i sold mine on local FB with TPMS for 2200, and i based that on people here selling for like you said 2500-3k. That recouped the cost of my 5 new Nittos and i was only out for the price of wheels. That being said when i sold my take offs on my JK it was 1300 so i believe the inflation is due to the scarcity right now. That being said like the guy above said 35s are about 350 a tire so the cost for them to get aftermarket 35s they get wheels too.

Most take offs have very low to no miles. Even with 1-2K miles they’re still practically new tires. But that’s also why you’re getting them for less money. Either way, nobody is making you buy them. You’re free to go and spend 5K buying new rims and tires. Tires are usually reasonable so people sell them for less. They’re currently not and people are exploiting that.
Sold my 5 Territories with 160 miles on them for $800. And that took weeks. Kept the Squatch wheels because I think they’re badass.

Folks are completely forgetting that some of these ”deals” come with SAS wheels! Factory forged beadloc capability...these wheels will be sought after some day and are one of the reasons the price may seem ellavated.
A set I was offered to buy, he was asking 1800$ which I felt was a fair price (brand new take offs, just a few miles home from the dealer).
