How to turn off auto engine stop?

I'm planning on just making a habit of hitting the button.

When I had my Mustang routine was get in, turn car on flip traction control off, put in gear and drive.

Bronco will be get in, turn on, flip Auto start/stop off, put in gear drive. Will take me maybe an extra second of my day lol

Is the ESS part of the smog control? Technically. Doesn't federal law prohibit tampering with smog devices? LOL I would turn that stupid thing off also. If you turn it off you will be personally held liable for global warming. Again, LOL.

Interesting, okay. The one for my Grand Cherokee plugs in under the drivers seat. I think it loops into whatever is remembering the memory seat positions.

Just be advised, it will also shut off your Blind Spot Monitor. When you connect a trailer to the Bronco (or just a trailer connector) it stops blind spot monitoring.

Just curious... why is there such hate for the Auto Start Stop feature?

For me, it's cause it's the first car I've had with it. It's a bit unsettling when you stop and the motor just shuts off. It just startles me, no real hate, just something new that I'm not a huge fan of.

I was actually willing to let it go for awhile and see if I got used to it but the wife really hates it and shuts it off every time we get into the car. After 35 years of marriage, I'm NOT arguing about it, LOL.

I'm focusing my energy on getting her too not scratch the door handle area with her nails, "money" better spent!!

My problem with it is how long will the starter last. I’m sure they are VERY expensive.

I thought starter reliability might be part of it. And it does make me wonder. Like I said, just curious. Doesn’t bother me so…

Some of us want our vehicles to last a long time. Last thing we want is to wear out starters and the engine itself, prematurely, from gratuitous restarts.
