Let’s say you sold your vehicle to a private party for the same value the dealer would have given you as a trade. When you buy your second vehicle from the dealer, you’re going to now pay sales tax. So the trade-in route is real savings. it comes down to how much more you can net from a private party sell vs what the dealer offers. In my case the private party would need to offer an additional 4K above the dealers offer, to break even on the sales tax.

Be careful out there ; I’d say 9 out of 10 calls I got on autotrader were crooks. So many scams out there.

Yep, I would go this way. The only thing holding me back is that these Broncos may show up within days of each other. I believe I would have to at least wait for registration to file with PA DMV before turning around and trading it in (about 30 days). I'd have to figure out a way to stall the second bronco from pickup.

I hope you’re only kidding about Zelle. I got ripped off via Zelle once and there was nothing Zelle could do about it even though it was fraudulent. Zelle even sent me confirmation of receipt of the funds in my Zelle account, then Zelle said there were no funds and nothing Zelle could do about it.

Be careful. Do a lot of research on payment method scams. What I found is most online/app payments favor buyers. If I sold to private party, I’d only accept a certified check I witnessed being produced at the bank, or bitcoin.

As for your dilemma, have you considered renting one of them on Turo? Probably depends a lot on where you live, but that was our solution to the golden ticket surprise after one Bronco was already in the garage.

So my wife has a base 4 door 2.3 auto, hard top/w rack, keypad, aux switches, Sasquatch...and ordered before you, is the roof rack that big of a constraint?

Yeah they are both MSRP so it's a nice insurance to have.

The biggest constraint are dealer allocations.

I think, if it I can swing it, Take the first (financed) Bronco and trade it in for the second one if there is profit to be made. Otherwise, I walk away from it and the dealer is going to get a nice ADM. I can't float both financed vehicles at once.

I just don't know how soon I can turn around and trade it in in PA. The fact that they are both Ford dealership should help, right?
