It doesn’t matter when it’s built. The VIN issued remains.

They have the special luck of getting a vehicle with a 21 model year built in 2022.

Which is why Ford is no doubt trying to avoid issuing VINs unless they're confident they can build them before the holiday shutdown and calendar year change.

To be fair VIN's were being issued LONG before the start of the roof debacle and AFAIK they are not issuing any more VINS for 2021.

Are you sure as I got my VIN after the top debacle. Maybe they had it before and didn't release until later. I have a Oct 11 build week.

Awesome news then! I certainly could be wrong, just going off what I've read, which changes daily.... :)

Ford committed to build Broncos with VINs in the 2021 model year,
Actually I think they said if you have a VIN, you will get a 2021 model year. They did NOT say that if you have a VIN, your car will be built in 2021.

They are still issuing VINs but only for softtops and FE. There is scheduling coming up this week for the rest of october, and then they still have November and 2 weeks for December

There’s still freak chance MIC builds happening each week. It makes no sense, but it’s happening.

Also- MY22’s will start being built in December. So the last possible MY21’s will be built prior to that.

All the FE haven't been issued a VIN yet? Seems like "first" is being used loosely :p

There is a chance but I have not seen any claims of a non-FE MIC receiving a VIN since the big MIC 2.0 announcement. Even if Ford is ahead of schedule on MIC 2.0 they would be smart not to schedule any non-FE's MIC's until MY22.
