Got around to installing my RC high winch mount, RC 20inch single row light bar and Smittybilt 10k X20!
Really straightforward.
Couldn’t be happier for the price, fit/finish of all products.
Purchased off Amazon:

-Winch for $469 on sale (Smittybilt X2O GEN2 10K Waterproof Wireless Winch with Synthetic Rope - 98510 https://a.co/d/4iGurhg).

-Winch mount for $210 (Rough Country Winch Mount for 2021-2023 Ford Bronco - 51066 https://a.co/d/8n3oPJQ)

-Light bar for $150 (Rough Country 20" Black Series Single Row CREE LED Light Bar - 70720BL https://a.co/d/fKtwXmj)

Got all the parts ready.
Read the instructions 25 times.
I had done this once before on a Wrangler.
Then I set off.

Thanks for the detailed pictures!

My mount recently arrived, wondering if you can help me out. One of the welds has a lot of extra slag next to the plate that will be mounted to the frame. I've attached a picture - before I start taking the bumper off and checking fitment, will I need to grind this down or does this part not need to be completely flush? If I need to do some grinding, I'd like to know before I start tearing things apart, and get stopped halfway through.

Thanks for the input.

Hi!
If this is the same high mount I believe there’s washers between the winch mount and the frame. It doesn’t sit flush if I recall correctly:

Funny, I took everything out and inspected everything but didn't bother to open up the instructions yet. A good example of RTFM haha. Thanks very much.

I'm also relocating it under the hood. Going to the metal shop this weekend to get some stuff to make a little bracket. I like the mounting kits already out there, but $250 USD shipped to Canada with shipping, duties and import fees would be close to $400 CAD

I realize this is an older thread, but I'm trying to resurrect some discussion - specifically related to the Rough County High Winch Mount. I'm planning to install on Saturday along with the LOD frame horn brackets. I've read/seen mixed reviews on the Rough County finish resistance to rust. No steel item is rustproof, but I'm trying to extend the life/appearance of this thing.

So, does anybody have feedback on whether they've had rust issues since installing? I'm planning to coat/wipe down parts before and after install with CRC Marine Corrosion Inhibitor, which seems to be working well on my Bronco bolts, mod bumper, etc. after two winters in the salt belt (used to be the snow belt, but now we just get salt slush for three months). Hoping to avoid spraying with paint or bedliner before the installing if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

So......after more than a year of having the light bar - does it significantly make a major difference? I Does the light "REACH OUT" farther than your high beams?

I same Rough Country winch mount and am considering the 20" light bar from RC......

I have had my RC winch mount now for about 8 months and have ran it through snow, tons of water, a LOT of car washes......not a single show of rust. If that helps any :).
