I'm installing the IAG Interior lighting set up, and I've found the instructions for wiring to existing AUX switches.
I'd like to install a low profile small rocker switch in the dash panel next to the headlight controller to turn them on and off rather than use an AUX switch.
Anyone done something similar? I'd like to see how you set it up.
Thanks!

Oh, this sounds exactly like what I am doing/have done!

The Auxbeam controller shown is mounted on a stainless steel bracket that I fabbed up and bolted through the grab handle.

I installed the IAG lights as the instructions followed. Instead of hooking it up via harness tap, I cut off their connector and soldered on a length of wire. That wire was then ran through the firewall and into the engine bay.

Both the Auxbeam switch panel wire and the IAG power wire are currently coiled up in the engine bay as I had run out of time to continue the install.

Next up will be a bracket to hold the solid state power distribution block, this will sit over top of the fuse panel in the engine bay.

Plug it all in and Voila, we have on demand lights that don’t take up any of the Aux 1-6 triggers. I like the location of the auxbeam switch panel due to it being out of the way, but also accessible at any point. With it running only peripheral stuff, it’s perfect in its little low key home.

I just added a rocker switch in the space between the steering column and the panel that pops down for access. Double sided tape to secure it. Super easy and cant see it nor does it take an aux switch

What distribution block are you looking at?

I'm about to do something similar and looking at parts now.

I like the bracket off the grab handle idea. I was thinking about going under the steering wheel (similar to what @Tor148 describes), but haven't decided on anything quite yet.

it’s a kit. Auxbeam offers a six or an eight gang package IIRC. Comes with everything you need, you gotta figure out how/where you mount it

Do the IAG ones not work the same way as the Mabett ones? They are plug and play and you can just turn them on and off with your dome light.

I like this. Illuminated switch? I'm curious where you routed/connected the ground for the switch.

Not iluminated. Just a basic rocker

Let me rephrase - one lead connects to the extra lead on the IAG harness; where did you route the other lead?

Used one of these

To tap into the fuse panel under the steering wheel for the hot. Taped a fuse that work on the key.
