Not trying to be pedantic but I replied to your original claim that they would sell millions - that's plural. I also said "maybe", not that they wouldn't. I still find it unlikely but as I also said, time will tell.

I think that thing is butt ugly but I respect what Elon is trying to do. A lot of folks thing the whole EV thing is a sham...like it or not, there is only so much oil in the ground and its going to wind down in the not too distant futur.

China is not going to stop wasting it on making ship loads worthless plastic crap to fill dollar stores with so we need people like Elon to push the boundaries on renewable energy.

This statement is like "better in your backyard (Chile, Australia, Africa, etc.) than mine." EV transition is happening whether we like or not. At least US mining should be more responsible than a lot of overseas mining operation although we shouldn't trust mining operations without a ton of accountability. Part of the reason the US holds standing in the world is the balance of energy we produce. If we refuse to source our own energy, then we are beholden to those who do. I would rather not be a geopolitical power just because we manipulate money, markets and hold bigger guns than the rest of the world.

I think it will sell well for a period of time but will eventually fall out of the spotlight due to its lack of proper utilitarian functionality. So far it doesn’t seem like it really excels at any of the feature areas it advertises.

wake me up in ten years when Tesla has a proper Rivian/F-150L form factor EV truck on the road. I think that one will be the major breakthrough for them and the Cybertruck will eventually be seen as an eclectic opening chapter to that new vehicle’s success.

I was 100% in on putting down a deposit night 1 after the live reveal. I immediately knew I wouldn’t be ordering 1 second after seeing it. It was whatever the opposite of love at first sight is

I thought surely this is the concept car and they’ll come out with a real one but Elon’s crazy enough I needed to wait to see what they came up with. Looks like they’re going with the original.

Seeing the bronco was love a first sight. Although i did get catfished by that gorgeous saddle brown interior…

This thing will be too expensive to sell many units. It will probably occupy a market segment like the Hummer H2, a vehicle that people buy to show off. It's not going to be practical for truck use or offroading.
