Is Canvas or Cloth top better?

What to would be better, the canvas or cloth soft top? What are the differences between the two?

You talking about the Bestops? Canvas is more durable than sailcloth. Looks better too.

I have had both on my 87 Mustang convertible top and there are pros and cons to both. Canvas is tougher but I had problems with the color fading over time. It went from black to a dark grey from sitting in the sun. Canvas was definelty easier to clean off compared to the cloth. The cloth top that is on it now has been on it for 15+ years and is still black but the material is starting to wear thin in some areas on the interior. Another bummer thing about a cloth top is what I would call “lint retainment”. You definelty don’t want to dry it with towels, otherwise you have lint balls all over it and it takes quite a while for them to fall off. Even using microfiber towels left behind lint. You really don’t want anything brushing up against it. Pollen sticks to the cloth easily as well.

My 06 Mustang GT convertible has the canvas top. IMO it looks better and is more durable then the cloth. It has been mentioned canvas fades. I can’t add to that since my car is garage kept and has limited mileage on it. It does clean well .

No. Hardtop is "better".

Which leads us to the more important question, better for what? Without context the answers are meaningless.
