I'm thinking about getting an extended Ford factory warranty but I had a really bad experience with my Jeep factory warranty.
For those of you that have had the Ford warranty was it worth it?
Thanks

Look at the Ford ESP. Period IMO. If there is another one out there please chime in!

Same as above. Did it all online for my truck. There was a thread that always listed who had the best deal on the Ford ESP on the truck forum. Had to use it once on my diesel and I am over 10k in the green now with many more miles and years to go. Calculate your years you'd like and average miles you drive.

If you can afford a major repair on your Bronco it makes no sense to buy any extended warranty. Statistically speaking you will never get your money worth. If it isn't profitable for the seller they will never sell it..
If a major repair of your Bronco would make you go bankrupt then yes buy one.

I bought the Grand Daddy of Ford ESP. The only thing I didn’t purchase because I didn’t know was the lighting rider for the ridiculously priced tail and headlamps.

I have Ford ESP and broke an axle shaft wheeling. After getting it replaced under warranty there's been a vibration in 4WD that they're trying to track down. While it seems Ford loves to just throw parts at things, the following things have been replaced trying to fix this vibration: both front axle shafts, front differential twice, front drive shaft twice, transfer case once with another transfer case on the way to try.

I’ve yet to lose money on an extended warranty if you keep it and drive it for the period. My wife’s old explorer had the AC Compressor fail with 100 miles left on the warranty, which cost about what I paid for the warranty. That was the closest I’ve have come to losing money!

I second that. If you buy an extended warranty buy a Ford warranty only. Make sure you ask the dealer if this is a genuine Ford warranty or some other brand. Many dealers sell both. Non OEM extended warranties are terrible.

Yeah, that's right. Extended warranties are best though of as insurance. I do think, the insurance is extremely reasonably priced if you:
1. Buy Ford ESP from a low cost reseller like Granger/Flood Ford
2. Buy the coverage in one of the pricing sweet spots
3. Keep the vehicle long enough to use the coverage, and keep it stock so as not to void it.
4. Value low friction repairs on your vehicles if they are needed.

I feel like a lot of the horror stories are from people that bought 3rd party warranties that are notoriously unreliable, paid huge markups on the warranties at the closing table, or never drive the vehicles long enough to use it and trade it in without a refund.

My personal experience with Ford ESP has been good, and I plan on buying one for my Bronco. I think I can extend it out to 8 years or so for about $1500 the last I looked. That is roughly 2 modest repairs.

I bought one suited to my expected retiree mileage and years I need. With all of the electronics in the Bronco, it just seemed like a no-brainer. I added the headlight replacement too. Granger Ford was the way to go for me after the high jinks I experienced with the dealer's "dreaded finance guy" at purchase/delivery time

Regarding the electronics, I was looking through a list of electrical and electronic items covered, and didn't see mentioned items such as the ECU, ignition module or other such components. Is all that stuff for sure covered?
