I had a chat with Crutchfield to get a Hertz DCX system with a Kicker Key 200.4, and this is what they sent me.

Does this look correct to y’all? I also was going to buy the @Mabett speaker pods from Amazon
Any particular reason why you are doing two different 6.5" speakers? I'm not sure what the difference in the speakers are, but the price is the same. One looks like an updated version of the other...

The Mabett pods fit the same size speakers as the kick panels - but you do have to watch out for coax tweeter horns if you want to use the Mabett provided speaker covers.

Also I only see 1 metra adapter. THere are two different styles - the dash and pods use the same 2-wire adapter. The kicks have a 4-wire adapter they need - I don't recall the part number off hand. Crtuchfield should give you a free adapter with each speaker set, just make sure you get the right ones.

Watch out on the 2-wire adapters, a lot of them came wired reversed from the factory - have to check them carefully on installation.

This is just what Crutchfield gave me, also seemed weird to me so that’s why I asked here

Ive got:
DCX 100.3 in the dash
DCX165.3 in the rear Mabett pods
DSK165.3 in the kick with the tweets on the dash

Can confirm these speakers fit, but the kicks were hitting the grills, so I took the grills off, but the grills can be modified if you like.

Crutchfield keeps giving me some weird carts, not sure where to go next. Maybe Sonic?

Wanted to ask if replacing the factory speakers on my 4-Door OBX without B&O is worth it. I have been looking at getting the 6 Kicker CS speakers from Crutchfield but wanted to avoid adding an amp.
Here is what I did on my 2023 Black Diamond non-B & O which (luckily) had the factory subwoofer. Everything came from Crutchfield. Their customer service people are the best.

Kicker KSC40 speakers for the dash corners
SSV Works BR-B65U 6.5" pods for the roll bar
Kicker 51KSC6504 speakers for the roll bar pods
Kicker 51KSC6704 speakers for the kick panels

* Note - Watch as many YouTube videos as you can before trying to disassemble the plastic trim because it can easily be broken.

* Note - Be sure to research the necessary ForScan changes necessary to make this setup work properly.

It's not a "neighbor-hater" window rattling sound system but for me it was a worthwhile upgrade.

Going with Hertz DCX all around, no amp for now. Don’t want loudness, just better quality

Just added SSV pods with Kicker KS 6.5's to the factory B&O system. They still sound thin when faded all the way to the rear, but when blended in with the front and powered sub, there is a definite bump in volume and middle frequencies compared to the B&O. It's a noticeable improvement, but there is no doubt they would sound better with more power and a full frequency signal. Unfortunately, it seems like that is an expensive and potentially problematic rabbit hole to go down.

Have you tried doing the Forscan mod to set them to speakers instead of tweeters?

I have not done anything with forscan. I have heard mixed results when changing forscan settings with the B&O system. Everything from its not necessary/does nothing, to its life changing.

I think the bigger difference (if I am to believe what I read) is with forscan changes to the base system.

After driving around for the last 20-30 minutes, there is definitely a noticeable difference. I find the B&O system to be very bright, and I had to turn my treble down a few notches with the new Kickers in tandem with the B&O fronts.

If i used one word to describe the B&O system..........sterile. the kickers warmed things up a little bit and definitely sound more pleasant. Was it worth the $300+ to change.......I think that answer is going to be different for everyone.

Do you have any pictures of the dsk165.3 and the tweets on the dash with how you set it all up on location of the tweeter and crossover, or anything regarding it?

I have that set I bought several years ago I was going to install in another vehicle and havent and wanted to use it for my 23 non b&o bronco.
Initially going to just replaced speakers and amp/sub later. I have the 6.5 mabett pods as well but going to need to buy speakers for the dash and rears as well.

Here you can see the tweets.,they fit the dash/a pillar almost perfectly. I didn't screw them in, but did use a little double-sided tape. All speakers are on their own channel from the amps. No crossovers on the components but all amps are fed from the twk-88 and each channel is independently tuned.
I used a PAC interface for my non-b&o to route signal to the twk
