Does anybody know a good way to keep the plastic fender flares and bumpers clean? I wash and dry the bumpers and fender flares but they dry with what looks like a white coating on them. Any ideas?

there's always the heat gun trick, but that does make them more brittle over time. the other option would be applying a plastic trim restorer to them occasionally.

I use Turtle Wax Seal and Shine, it adds year long protection on trim and paint and it doesn't turn the trim glossy, you can't tell it's been applied to trim but really shines on the paint. Water and dirt repel off the plastic trim. There's plenty of YouTube videos about this product

Pretty scientific evaluation across all product/types. Thanks for sharing. Looks like I'm getting some of the Car Guys stuff.

Had tried some of the Chemical Guys stuff and found similar results to how long it lasted. Also, I put some of this on my RV bug shield and it removed all of the shiny outer protective coating - oh well...

All,

I use cerakote rapid ceramic paint sealant on my Black BD onn all the paited surfaces. It is fantastic. That said I wanted to use their Trim Restorer on the them to protect them. I reached out to Ceracote CS and inquired on using it on new trim, here is there responce:

Good morning, Everett –
We only recommend using this product to restore faded, untreated, unpainted, exterior trim. It is not to be used on interior, new, or plastic window trim.
I hope this helps!

I then asked about the paint sealant and here is her responce:

Everett –
Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant is designed specifically for a painted surface; however, it’s a water-based ceramic coating and can be applied to many other surfaces and still provide its hydrophobic properties while also enhancing the shine of the surface. This includes fiberglass, carbon fiber, gel coat, smooth plastics, etc.

Theoretically, you should be able to apply it to your fenders, it may just take some work to get it to an evenly buffed out appearance due to a bit more of a textured surface.

I hope this helps.

I stopped worrying about how the black plastic parts look, since they're so often dirty or covered in mud. I clean up the painted parts and call it good.

Stuff like this just doesn't want to clean up nicely. And it doesn't bother me a bit.

I had my WT for over a year, after I wash it, I use ceramic spray all over my WT and so far, the plastic and the WT decal looks just like new.

I’ve used this and it holds up really well imo. I use it on the fenders, rear bumper, (plastic non metal bumper), door handles and mirrors. And well tires. It’s not overly shiny but you can somewhat adjust that depending on how much you use and wipe off excess. It still holds up a wash or two if I don’t reapply it each wash. It’s pretty much the same as their VRP (Vinyl Rubber Plastic protectant) which other people recommend so you can get that also
