Hey guys we've just finished up prototyping our HNT Series Rear Bumper for the Bronco. These are heading to production now so we thought we'd tell you about them as well as open them up to pre-ordering for the first production run, for whoever is interested!

Ford Bronco Lobo Off-Road HNT Rear Bumper DTS_1635X-2400w

We are scheduling the first run of 20 so if you'd like to get in on it go to the website and place your pre-order. We won't ask for your money until they're ready to ship, so you can pre-order with confidence. The first production run should be completed and ready to ship by mid November (we're padding it just in case--there's a chance they could be done quicker). We're giving our 6G Forum friends first crack at them but this weekend at Off-Road Expo in Pomona we'll be offering any remaining units from the initial run to the public. By the way if you're in Southern California please stop by and see us at the Expo, as we'll have these and all of our other brand new Bronco products on display for the first time.

So, let's get into some of the details about this bumper!

Ford Bronco Lobo Off-Road HNT Rear Bumper DTS_1613X-2400w

The HNT Rear Bumper is designed to carry the High-N-Tight design ethos of our HNT series bumpers to the rear of the Bronco maintaining as much ground clearance and departure angle as possible. The HNT Rear Bumper tucks up as tightly as possible to the body of the Bronco to help it sneak past rocks and obstacles on the tightest trails. The bumper has an oversized spare tire recess to accommodate swing-gate mounted spare tires up to 40″ in diameter. Extreme duty recovery shackle tabs are integrated into the beefy frame mounts.

In addition to high clearance, we’ve worked to achieve the lightest weight and lowest center of gravity possible. We achieved that by using 1/8-inch thick plate steel for the bumper’s outer shell. This is thicker material than the factory steel bumper but lighter weight than most heavy aftermarket bumpers which are made entirely of thick plate, even where it isn't needed. But we did provide the beef where it counts, as the bumper shell mounts over our beefy Frame Brackets, which are made of 3/16″ thick plate steel. These components provide the structural rigidity required to support the bumper as well as the bumper’s Recovery Tabs. They also incorporate Outrigger Braces for the bumper shell. The weight of this beefy under-structure is concentrated where it is needed, and absent where it would be a waste.

The 1″ thick CNC machined Extreme Duty Recovery Tabs are fully incorporated into the beefy structure of the Frame Brackets and protrude through CNC laser-cut slots in the Bumper Shell. These Recovery Tabs accept standard heavy duty D-ring shackles and soft shackles, and are fully boxed and braced to handle the most severe recovery duty. The Bumper Shell’s outboard cut-outs are filled with removable CNC laser-cut mesh panels that may be painted a contrasting color by the end-user, if desired. The HNT Rear Bumper is designed to be fully compatible with parking sensors and comes with hole covers for Broncos that don’t have sensors.

Note that in the interest of designing the highest clearance rear bumper possible, there is no provision for mounting the license plate. The license plate and license plate lamp must be relocated. LOBO Off-Road does not yet offer a solution for license plate relocation but there are several options currently on the market from other manufacturers.

The HNT Rear Bumper is made entirely of 1/8″ and 3/16″ thick mild steel plate, CNC laser cut, precision brake-formed, and professionally fixture welded for a consistent fit and finish. Premium hardware and detailed installation instructions are included.

INSTALLATION VIDEO

Also thanks to our friend Corbin at @Weekends & Waypoints for this awesome Install & Review Video for the HNT Rear Bumper:

OPTIONAL MICA ARMOR COAT
All Lobo Off-Road Bumpers are now available in an optional finish: Mica Armor Coat is a super durable polyester powder coat finish with excellent weather resistance properties for high performance and architectural applications. It has built-in UV resistance to reduce fade over time, which is especially important for vehicles that spend their time outside and on the trail rather than in the garage. This polyester powder coat is thicker and more durable than typical coatings, better able to resist scuffs, scratches and chipping. Mica Armor Coat is dark gray in color, with a light 3D Metallic flake (see Finish close-ups in Image Gallery). Please allow up to two weeks additional lead time for Mica Armor Coat.

The standard finish on all Lobo Bumpers is still our Light-Textured Black Powder Coat:

Lastly, some of you have watched our R&D thread where we've been showing in-process pics and info of our various bumper and skid products. Some of you are on our waiting lists for those products and might be aware that several of those are now in the ordering or pre-ordering stage for our waiting list members. With this product we've bypassed the waiting list and gone straight to pre-orders as we came to realize that the waiting list function was sort of redundant. The result is that this is the first of our products that is publicly available for anyone to pre-order. The rest of our newest products will also be available for non-waiting-list orders and pre-orders on Friday, after our listees have had their chance for dibs. So keep an eye out for those.

Here's the link to the HNT Rear Bumper on our website, if you would like to pre-order. Thanks!
Looks good!

X2...The little bit that I can see looks great compared to stock and/or other aftermarket flares that I've seen so far. Do tell!

Spent a day in Moab for the bronco safari last weekend, first time going to Moab, definitely going back and planning to stay a reasonable time. Here are some images that were taken from the trip, showcasing the benefits of the HNT rear bumper.

are there lift points on the HNT rear bumper where it's safe to use either a high-lift or ARB jack?

Designated points, no. But more than adequate places, yes. With the low profile construction a high lift jack or ARB jack is able to be close enough to jack the bronco up the frame rail where the bumper is mounted to the frame, below the D ring area.
