To my naked eye it was very obviously light green. I was expecting it to look like light gray putty but it was very much light green like a cactus.
Everyone’s eyesight is different. I understand that. That’s why you get the color you like but for me I seen a huge difference between the way the color acted on the Bronco Vs the bronco sport and ranger. I work for a paint company and deal with color all the time so I might have a different view to share with people. My pictures look different from what I s

Everyone’s eyesight is different. I saw a huge change in both night and daylight on the bronco sport and the Ranger in comparison to the bronco I saw at the roadshow. The angles definitely allow the light to change but in person it had a gray hue And in the photos it does bring out the green but you don’t see to the naked eye. I deal with color all the time and I’m also a color specialist in the paint industry so I might see a lot of things that others don’t and I hope a lot of people and business with color. Are the best and worst things about the color cactus gray and area 51 is how much it changes with the light source and angles on different vehicles. I’ve seen both in person unfortunately I have not seen the area 51 on a bronco and only the Bronco Sport and I was unsatisfied. As long is the color you choose looks great to you in your eyes that’s all that matters I am personally very pleased to mine it looks gray or in person in comparison to the color in a photo.

(This is a reply I was going to put on the " a-point-of-contact-forsocal-buyers" thread but figured it would be better here.)

The event invitation said no +1 etc were allowed but when I checked in they asked how many in my group. I saw multiple groups of 2-3 but maybe they had separate reservations. I had reserved at 10, 11 and 12 because I wasn't sure what time I would be able to make it. Maybe in some small way I helped reduce overcrowding ;)while at the same time denying another hardcore enthusiast from attending.

I arrived around 11:45 checked (waited for one person in front of me to check in) then waited in the short line (3 or 4 groups ahead of me) to go into the roped off area. I was in the roped off area by around noon, heard most of the demo while looking at the other Bronco's and headed out by 12:30.

I didn't particularly care for the MGV color and feel (very squishy/spongy) like @Felix808 mentioned.

I switched from CG to Area51 after seeing a Bronco Sport. The CG had gone from a cool teal online to almost colorless gray, in the bright Arizona sun, or open shade. As the before/after build page captures showed too. One thing I know as a photographer is both your White Balance on your camera, and it's color emulation, have to be factored. 5 people can take photos of the same Bronoco at the same moment, and when they post them they will have 5 different looks. Then you have your monitor calibration too...

Holy cow did I get an ass-whoopin' for posting the "other" Galpin thread. Yes, I was grumpy... and I guess my expectations were not aligned for with what the event was. I DID register for the event and had an appointment. I simply wanted to go, look, sit-in, and see Broncos in different trims and had really expected to see at least a 2-door like I ordered. My "gripes" were - having to wait around, no 2-door Broncos, no hardtops Broncos, just two well-used 4-door Broncos that were roped off. Ok, yeah, they eventually took the ropes down and yeah, I "missed" an opportunity to touch and feel - but with no 2-door and no hardtops, yes, I lost interest. I had hope/expected that this "largest Ford Dealership in the nation" - and presumably a lot of orders would have had a better Bronco showing. Was a single 2-door or a single hardtop too much to expect?

(And no, I didn't close the other thread - must have been the moderators after they saw the clear knock-out and my eyes rolled up into the back of my head.)
Kudos for hopping on this thread.

I know this is an odd request, but if anyone can get measurements with a dial caliper and tape measure what the door hinge bolt hole diameter is and the distance between the upper and lower hinges is, I would appreciate it. If front and rear door hinges differ, I would need both measurements. My son is going to fab up a door caddy to store them on in the garage. Thanks in advance!

I just read the other Galpin thread as well. I don’t know who that person was but he was wound up tight way before he arrived at the dealership. First off you had to have a reservation. You check in they provided water chips cookies and sprite. The fact they offered beverages for people since there wasn’t a canopy I felt was very nice. They gave a 10 to 15 min Presentation that was informative and they were answering everyone’s questions while others were inside of the Outer Banks model. They would not allow us to go into the black diamond but we were able to touch it and look inside and ask as many questions as we wanted. The tops looked great. Way better than a competitor and the fact that they showed how it folded completely in the back of the black diamond looked awesome and made me rethink my MIC top was even necessary. They had to sanitize the Outer Banks between people or groups getting in. For every reservation they only allowed plus one. Not one Galpin dealership person was involved. This was a bronco event and those guys basically came out to enjoy snacks and the Broncos since everyone there was there for the bronco. I bet you that guys gonna be really pissed off if he didn’t get the bronco carabiner clip. I’m looking forward to using it on my Badlands keys as it’s orange. I appreciate the event and I made a lot of heads turn as I left since I took my 67 Chevelle and was thumpin on the way in and out lol.

I wonder if it was too hot to sit in. OP commented on the MGV being hot.
I seen these 2 Broncos wed in Costa Mesa Ford it had nothing to do with the sun hitting the seats.
We we're not allowed to sit or open the doors only touch the seats

That’s disappointing. Assuming these are the same ones that are going to be in the Bay Area in a week.

we need to figure out why we can’t get in this one bronco

I was there, and did notice that beauty... very nice! And I agree, the event was nice, Galpin was a good venue with ample parking and Ford organized the event well. I was disappointed they only had the two units, and neither with SAS or MIC. OH well, guess I'll be surprised when mine comes!

I had a 1pm reservation. I felt that even though it was lacking a Sasquatch and MIC top I was glad to see the marine grade vinyl, the 12 inch screen, the hero buttons as well as sit in it to see how my family will fit. My teenager daughter said it was snug but she is also used to a Yukon Denali. I parked the Chevelle right in front of the show room entry door across from the Broncos.
