9/16/20 reserved, first order 2/21, converted to '22 MY in 10/21. No VIN, and just moved from ordered to "in production" a few weeks ago. Time to get some more patience for this haul.
If it's "in production" then it has a VIN issued

My order was placed on 03/13/2021, converted to a 2022 last fall, and still I have no VIN or production date. The dealer has no information, or they are not sharing any. I'm curious about how many of us with orders as old as mine are still waiting?
Same here crickets from my dealer after sending two emails.

I ordered mine 3/21/21. Got pushed back to a 22 model year and still patiently waiting. Received all gifts. Went to Moab Off Rodeo. That just made me more anxious as I saw the capabilities of the bronco

Badland Sasquatch, Area 51. 2.7w/ MIC top Lux pkg.

You’re 100% right, they care about money and if they’re not getting people their Broncos, they’re not making that money. If they could, they would, there’s millions more to be made. Stuff happens, it’s a new vehicle that no one actually needs. Keep some perspective.
Ford is selling every one they can make to their dealers and make the same amount of money no matter which dealer gets it, they have zero economic incentive (aside from price protection, that we will get to shortly) to make reservation holder orders first.

Since Ford has always maintained that price protection goes away after MY2023, they actually have a perverse motivation to NOT fill the reservations. The more reservation orders they push out to beyond 2023MY, the less price protection money they have to pay out. That gigantic liability simply vanishes. The more material and labor costs increase for them, the more they raise (real) invoice pricing, a price protected unit is directly reducing the net profit per unit.

Is Ford sandbagging us because of that? I do not think it is at that point yet, but you can be damn sure Ford knows it and are running the numbers for pumping them out this year for reservationists to see if their forecast price increase for MY2023 will cost them more (in 2022.5 total rebate amounts) or less than letting them dribble out to us and eating more 2023MY price protected units before letting the estimated remaining reservation orders die on the vine. My guess is they will announce the close of the program and claim the remaining can get them off dealer lots or keeping their orders at the dealers they have them at now, after 2023MY comes to a close. Blaming folks for not going to a higher allocation dealer by choice (for the public relations spin) Perhaps even making the rebates portable so you could go to any dealer. (a final FU to the dealers they screwed on the allocation deal)

In short, your perspective is flawed by thinking Ford isn't making money unless they build reservation orders. The make exactly the same amount selling to dealer for walk-ins or for stock.
