Was it after a long pull uphill?

Both my previous 3.5 ecoboost and my 2.7 Bronco exhibit that for a few minutes at various mountain trailheads.

I do let it idle a couple of minutes before shutdown in that situation.

I have a 2.3l with about 650 miles and the smell is still persistent. Thinking of taking her in for a check up. Its not quiet a burning smell but also think its coming in vents occasionally @Ford Motor Company anything to worry about. Also seeing gas mileage in 2.3 has not got above 15.5 with normal driving.

I thought that smell was oil or some fluid dripping on the exhaust. I haven't found where it's coming from either.

Definitely had that smell for longer than I thought for just off gassing, but it did finally go away.

Mine is 3000 something miles. I sometimes smell the same thing.
Checked engine bay and underneath found no visible hazards.
So I've been telling myself its probably someone else's car though its probably from me

I've had the same thing. I chalked it up to the exhaust. I've had this same smell after replacing the catback on several vehicles. It disappears after a couple hundred miles.

I had this same experience when I first got mine. Received it in Dec 2021 and living in MN, I almost always use remote start in the winter. Every time I got in the Bronco I noticed a burning plastic smell and wondered if it had something to do with the heater or heated seats but decided not to do anything about it since several others seemed to have the same experience. Like everyone else, it went away after a while.

2022 Bronco Wildtrack, 3000 miles, just had to replace a faulty turbo charger (under warranty). Brought the vehicle home and smelled the burning plastic smell, heavily on passenger side. Tech advisor suggested waiting a couple of days to see if it goes away before bringing it back in.

If it smells like hot plastic I wouldn't worry. If it smells or looks like smoke and your natural response is "this is smoke and I shouldn't breathe it" then investigate.

I have around 100 miles on my 2.7. There is the oder of burnt/melted plastic coming from around (I think) the engine and smells strongest around the passenger side.

I don’t see anything touching the turbo or exhaust on the side and no smoke or visual fumes.

any one have any ideas?

thanks.
Mine was bad when new when remote starting... And many others as well.
