Has anyone found a metal skid plate option for the standard bumper? I’ve thought about upgrading the bumper to the DV8 OE+, but to be honest don’t really mind the plastic bumper.

Kinda like the look and texture of the plastic bumpers on my base. Easy to clean and won't rust. Don't see spending several thousand to upgrade those but like you I would prefer a metal skid up front. May just buy a takeoff from an upper trim level and cut the slots out for the tow hooks.

Is that the only thing that has to be done? So the bolt holes line up? That sounds like a gold

The JCR would work but you lose your tow hooks.

I did the Asfir with the plastic bumper on my obx. Very clean install. I believe it could be modified (aluminum is pretty easy to cut) if you ever upgrade to a steel bumper as well.

That is all that has to be done (cut slots for the OE recovery points/loops). All bolt holes line up.
