how much does the knob weigh?

you do want a shorter shifter if you wife/gf likes to rest her head in your lap on long drivesThose here saying it’s too tall never drove a manual truck. The idea that ppl want a shorter shifter is insane lol
How are you liking it compared to OEM? Does that knob get super hot when the sun beams on it or does it stay neutral temp?I have the twisted shifter one and thought I would hate the 1or 2 extra in height but is really more ergonomic.
Love it ,no heat related issues yet,it really feels better not having to dive down off the armrest now.How are you liking it compared to OEM? Does that knob get super hot when the sun beams on it or does it stay neutral temp?
I don't think that's necessarily the case. I have a very tall shifter in my race car that is similar in style to this. The throw is still extremely short, and it also makes it faster to shift because you reduce the distance that your right hand has to move from the steering wheel to the shift knob. It feels very premium and helps you shift much more confidently. If this is anything like that, I'm definitely going to have to try it.Wouldn’t the throw be reduced even more if it was factory height? This looks a little too “big rig”.
The mechanicals helped reduce the throw, and the longer length should make the shifting even easier than stock. B&M makes some good stuff. I installed one of their short throw shifters on my 93 third SC, which worked well though needed more authority to move switch gears on that transmission. Here I had a Hurst shift handle on it as I needed the line lock button for my front brakes.I was interested until I saw that height. The height of factory shifter seems correct and inline for me...adding 3" inches does not seem helpful and would seem to only make for a necessarily longer throw than would have been needed at factory height.
This is exactly what I wanted for an aftermarket upgrade to the stock mt. Thank you @Holley Performance Co. !!!This B&M Precision SportShifter for the modern Bronco platform with the 2.3-liter Engine and 7-Speed manual transmission includes a 303 stainless steel stick with an anodized aluminum pivot. Our design reduces the throw by a massive 40% over the factory shifter and provides a shorter more positive feel when shifting gears. To help accomplish this, we increased the stick height by almost 3-inches to create a much more ergonomic shifter position. The factory shifter sits lower than the center console, but ours sits in line with it so you can rest your arm on the console and shift more comfortably. The factory leather shift boot is also retained and attaches to the new black anodized aluminum lockout slider to smoothly and easily actuate reverse. The included black round shift knob shows the shift pattern on top and B&M logos on the sides, both filled in white to tastefully compliment the interior of the Bronco. Also, this shifter has 100% compatibility with the factory knob, so if you want to retain your leather-wrapped knob instead of the B&M knob, you can do so. Finally, the SportShifter attaches directly to the OEM shift cable and includes installation instructions and all hardware necessary for an easy at-home installation.

Glad you've had some positive experience with their shifters. I stayed away from them with my 2004 GTO because they had terrible reviews. If I remember correctly they eventually ended up not making them pretty quickly after because so many people were having issues with them. The mechanicals helped reduce the throw, and the longer length should make the shifting even easier than stock. B&M makes some good stuff. I installed one of their short throw shifters on my 93 third SC, which worked well though needed more authority to move switch gears on that transmission. .
good point..would allow for better clearance from items in your cup hold area. Also it annoys me that anything over a medium cup or straw hits my arm or hand and maybe this alleviates that.
Like a bent banana.Would have been awesome to have a 20 degree kick back or so.
