Ok, I haven’t found any articles on the standard OEM brakes. How many miles on average are we experiencing? What is the options for upgrades?

Haven't chewed through enough miles on the Bronco yet to get there, but my previous F150's both got around 150,000 miles before they needed new pads, and we sold the wife's explorer with 120k on it and pads still looked good there.

Neither of those were off road run, not sure that is terribly rough on brakes though, and not a lot of stop-n-go city traffic. A lot of mountains/hills, curves and rural driving though.

I would be shocked if I have to replace mine before 120k, as that's what I sold my last vehicle at with still half pads left.
I tend to stay off the brakes and coast a lot, or even shift down to start slowing before approaching an intersection or stopping event(depending on traffic conditions).

PowerBrake makes a 4x4 specific (whatever that means) big brake kit for the 2.3. They told me it will work on the 2.7 but sometimes it triggers a CEL for some reason. But it’s $2,600 for just the front calipers, rotors, pads, and steel lines. So you’d still be out for rear rotors and pads.

I’m used to replacing pads/rotors on M3’s every 20-30k. So I’m a bit shocked at those saying they’re getting to 120k. Wow!

But your M3 uses a racing pad.... Most cars do not. Racing pads wear out quickly just like a soft compound tire wears out quickly.

They also use very soft rotors forcing you to replace them as well when you do your pads. I’m assuming that’s not the case on our trucks.

I just picked these up a couple weeks ago but haven't put them on yet. How do they feel vs OEM in the bronco?
All i can say is I stop perfectly fine....definitely not worse that oem. I bought them mainly to vastly reduce the ridiculous brake dust.

Pete you’re crazy!

Does it stop better?
Stops great, but that wasn't the reason i got them for the Bronco. I wanted to eliminate as much brake dust as possible, which is what carbon fiber/ceramic will do while minimizing wear to rotors and still stop wonderfully. 👍

Ok all, I know driving style really matters. I can say from several decades and over 200k miles plus driving rigs over 100k lbs, ah you say that’s impossible as US limits to 80k, yeah……. Can’t say much more beyond that.
I am only looking at norms and outward problems. Just saying….

I have power stop brakes and drilled/slotted rotors on my f150 screw and my wife’s Taurus. They are much better and very little dust. When the Little Mule needs brakes, it’ll have them too!

Just my way of doing things but - suv and trucks get Powerstop and motorcycles and sports cars get EBC.
