I’m getting the No Key Detected with my key FOB and Bronco won’t start!! The FOB locks and unlocks doors and sounds alarm, but when pushing start button I get the error. I’ve tried the center console slot and still No Key Detected. Tried both FOBs, swapped batteries, removed battery cables for 30-mins to reset it, and looked in both rear panels and the PATS antennae on both sides are plugged in. I did have front speakers top and bottom replaced but nothing else. Are there PATS antennae there too that they could’ve forgot to plug in??

it’s at the dealership now and they are diagnosing. Anyone have any ideas????

Just place the fob in the bottom of the center console.... Start the Bronco. It will start recognizing it again. Very simple very quick. I have had to do it a couple of times. Usually when disconnecting the battery and doing some electrical work... Connect back up and the Bronco does not want to read it. It needs to be at the very bottom of the console. works every time.

Thanks @5GENIDN as I mentioned in my post I tried the center console slot as did the dealership. No joy, doesn’t work everytime at least not for me.

Seems like it’s either software or maybe the anti theft antennae’s went bad as the two in the back are plugged in.

Do you have other key fobs attached to the same key ring? The reason why I ask is if my building key fob is sitting in the cupholder with my bronco key a lot of times it thinks that the key isn’t detected anymore. Like they’re interfering with each other?

Unfortunately no. Just using the FOB have tried both FOBs and nothing else is even in the vehicle.

It’s a long shot but maybe disconnect the vehicle battery wait for any risidual power to drain and reconnect. I once had a console error in a vw and it resolved that by forcing a complete reboot.

I did that too. I left it disconnected for about 30-mins not sure if that was long enough but it didn’t work

I apologize... somehow I missed that part... Yep, clearly state you tried... So the Batteries are good in both the Bronco and the fobs... I just replaced all my speakers and NO I did not see any connections in the dash that could have been effected in a swap.... (at least in the speaker locations)... The antennas are not going to go bad but maybe the module they are sending to..... That could possibly explain the center console as well...

I believe there are a series of sensors inside the car, I have a dead spot on driver front that this happens for. It’s getting looked at next week, I figured for me it was one of the sensors. Maybe all yours are toast?

That could be. Any idea where this module is located? But the fact the center console should work no matter what, if it sends a signal to that module then it would explain it.

Possibly an issue with the BCM

Thank you for explaining that. So should I send this to the dealer? Would they have techs who could diagnose this? Also I’m guessing you’re saying any of those could be bad in this situation??

What are your suggestions to solve for this?

They should already have this information, it’s from the factory workshop manual. I don’t have a suggestion other than to let them diagnose it. Nobody on here is going to be able to without the Bronco.

Holy cow That’s complicated!!!
lol you should see the description and operation of how some other systems work in vehicles, this is easy in comparison. Great example of how vehicles have become much harder to work on though. Not as easy as just turning a key like the good old days.
