Yep definite something going on. Mine had 54 miles on it when it rolled off the truck. I was also part of the 12/6 build group that sat around for weeks before shipping. When got the Bronco home and got underneath it was obvious that it spent some time on Michigan’s winter roads. There was a chalk like mud/dirt under there and it obviously sat out side for awhile before being shipped. I didn’t do much with the rust on the driveline and other areas that were not painted see photos below. But mine had quite a few spots on the frame and other pained components like skid plates etc where the paint was scratched and rust was starting. I spent an entire day hand sanding and repainting rust spots just for the peace of mind.70+- km’s. Took a month and a halfish from built to shipped so something went on there. Was not driven at the dealer as it showed up at 10:30 and I took it home at 4:30 same day.
If you are going to PPF or ceramic coat they will do do any paint correction necessary prior to applying the product. I just did a complete clay bar, paint correction and ceramic coat on mine. I have Antimatter blue and honestly the paint from the factory looked pretty good. there were a few small scratches in the tailgate and a couple very small blems that I was able polish out. Only real problem with the paint was the chip on the drivers side rocker panel that was done at the factory. The stories about the squatch wheels throwing rocks on the sides of the bronco are real!! Plan on spending $$$ on mud flaps and/or PPF or kiss your rocker panels goodbyeAny way to get paint film protection put on before and spider web swirls appear?
Or the whole door was swapped out with another one. We’ll never know.46, looks like a door was repainted (I would not have ever noticed, my ceramic coating guy pointed out that there were no car wash spider web swirls there.
