OE sideview mirror spots hack ?

I would like to free up an aux switch and use the factory mirror flood light dash buttons for my ditch lights. Has anyone done that before?

You’d need to run independent relayed harnesses after tapping into the positive line for the ditch lights. And then you’d have to contend with them only being useful for 2mph/5km/h till they shut off.

It’s probably easier to add in an extra switch panel/controller to give you more switchable options

Agree with @Boreal. This is not just "a switch connected to a light".

What sits behind that switch is different wire gauges, amperages, resistors, timers, circuit start/shutoffs, and fusing. It's involved. There is a reason why a replacement mirror is over $400.

The relay is a simpler route. But then, why not drill the dash and add a convenient switch(es) where you want it. IMO same amount of effort as trying to wire into the mirror switches.

I am not saying it cannot be done, but there are things to consider.

Oracle lighting has already done a lot of the homework with their side mirror ditch lights.
Maybe contact their tech support and find out the details of what is required.
They are nice people with some experience electrical engineers.

When you do resolve this, come back and let us know.

oh no dang, didn’t realize that shut off after moving.. well there goes that idea. Thanks - I saw a different post where someone had this cluster and hooked up their rear fogs to it

There are a few plug & play options for super duty’s . Had one that worked fine on my f250.

you could try emailing one of them to see if they might make a bronco option
