Totally depends on your planned use IMO. I can tell you that if you plan to go fully topless the MIC roof rack is a royal PIA. After two removals/installs I parted ways with the OEM roof rack.

Not entirely true. Do dealers report all transport damage to carfax? Doubt it.
If there is no refinishing involved the dealer doesn’t have to report to anyone. 30 dings should be around 400 to 500 $, there’s no need for any reporting. And a good PDR tech will get it to the point you won’t be able to see where the dents were, even if you know where they were.

We’ll, I’m at the point were I really don’t feel comfortable purchasing a new vehicle that already has damage (I will constantly have concerns about the paint till the time I sell it). I’m not really sold on the interior of the Wildtrak. I hate to lose price protection, but it might be a circumstance that is better for me just to walk away from. Really sucks after waiting several months for my order.
I’ve had PDR done on several vehicles, a couple of the dents were pretty severe. Never had any concerns with paint or anything else. Unless the dents are really severe, don’t let that keep you from your Bronco.

My 2006 Escape was hit by hail 2 weeks after I took delivery. Look like someone took a ball peen hammer to it. I've never had an issue with the paint failing or any of the dents coming back except when it happened again.

The PDR guys are not normally tied to a dealership. Most are specialists that follow the storms and sub contract. They do great work in my opinion. I definitely would not let that be stopping your decision process. But.....it's your money so do what you feel is best for you. I just wouldn't worry about the hail damage.

Going with the WT. Tough decision. I just know how I would feel if I bought the damaged one even after repair. Yes, the WT has a hard top which I’m okay with. After market soft tops are relatively cheaper if I decide to change someday. Plus, if I’m not happy with the purchase paying msrp, I will probably not lose much or perhaps make a little off a resale. Thanks for everyone’s input.

Congrats on your new WT.

Just know there was no "wrong" decision here. Just the one that makes you happier.

Just my luck. Badlands ordered in March arrived at the dealership with hail damage. The dealer will repair dings (about 30 or so) and replace the soft top. However they have a Wildtrak with a hardtop that they will sell me at msrp if I want it. Not sure which one to go with. I’m leaning toward the Wildtrak with the top. Any advice would be great,

They're both the only acceptable color, so either one works!

Well, if it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all. Bought the WT Friday and today the dealer called and said that it was involve in the seatbelt latch safety recall and they needed me to bring it back. I checked NSTSB website and the vin showed up. Man, am I P.O.ed. Had a couple of options, take back my trade in, drive off in my new WT, loaner until fixed which could be months, or take the BL which came in with the recall fixed along with an extra $2000 toward trade in and a $4000 check. Oh yea, throwing in door bags and paint warranty. The BL was my original order. Looks like for $4000 under msrp, I’m gonna be a BL owner instead.

Why do I always feel like I’m getting the you know what from the stealership.

Wait, you can't keep driving the WT until the parts come in?

If the Badlands is an automatic, then the Wildtrack.

If it's a stick, then I can't imagine swapping from a manual to an auto for any reason.

Technically I could since they sold it to me. But they could face pretty severe fines for selling it (not that I care or that affects me). However, my original deal was msrp no mark up, and now they gave me an extra 4000 to swap (plus giving me 2000 back in trade deal because of difference in msrp). So I’m getting the BL for 4000 under msrp. I don’t think that’s a bad deal seeing how most are selling for several thousand over msrp.
