Agree the batch concept isn't necessary these days. Unless Ford feels they can run the line faster and increase daily output by building in batches, but I'll guess that's not the case.
Component availability may be a factor in when a specific vehicle gets built...... whether there is an adequate supply of say, 2.7 engines, or 210 axle assemblies. If they don't have the components, they can't build the vehicle. The recent buyers' survey was likely to get an idea of demand for the individual components.

Building stock is less difficult because they can just make 100 identical trucks in a row, it's much easier for their supply chain than building 100 unique trucks
If we were talking the Model T, then your point would be correct.

Anybody know what the # of reservations is up to? The last report I saw was 230,000 at end of July.

I'm sure Ford will be taking reservations at least till the ordering begins in Dec. But for how long afterwards? I'm thinking of putting in a second, late, reservation to possibly take advantage of 2022 model changes if my first planned build isn't ideal.

BTW, Ordering in Dec near the holiday season is going to be hell on the dealerships. Guess Ford wants some real numbers before the calendar year runs out. Ordering in January would be easier for most involved, since things slow down anyway.

Seems like a high conversion rate.

It is we are hoping for a 60% conversion...

Most of what we have lost so far is from people that either wanted them sooner (not on B6G lurker/member), did not answer when Jaime calls or were just thinking about it and then bought something else...

Yeah, that was before people learned that the badge stickers were reflective and cancelled their reservation ;)

Big Broncos as the sports have already been ordered, closing at 66%...

That is why we are so optimistic on the Broncos...

Thanks for sharing this info Granger! It's nice to see this data and hopefully we can compare the data a year from now. Thank you again!

Optimistic for Broncos because we may not have to wait till 2022 (I'm a 7/25 reservation) since the numbers will drop? That's still 130k vehicles right?

I’m thinking Broncos have higher cancellation rate than sport broncos. And it starts after B&P comes out and people see their $38k bronco built out to $53k before taxes.

Then another wave hits when reservation orders are told your build is 10 months out and they decide it too long a wait and they didn’t like the big price tag anyway.

Jeep 80th anniversary is next year. You know they are gonna throw out savings and loyalty bonus to upgrade old jeeps to anniversary editions. Their gonna fight to keep owners. I’m holding out till June for good news from either manufacture.

Thanks Albert!
So reservation numbers are consecutive? No decoding required?
Did they start at 10100000? I'm number # 10401xxx (8/24).... would mean I'm 301, 000 in.....
