I have read through this thread several times and I appreciate everyone's insight; it has helped me a great deal in refining my new OBX build. I am a convert from a BD build because of several reasons albeit with much nostalgia for the BD. I think I am ready to submit my order barring any major developments from the price list that will come out later this month. It would be nice to have the updated B&P but not necessary. I plan to submit my order as soon as possible because 2021 holds a lot of transition for our family. Here is my build along with a projection of potential upgrades.
Here's to a safe and prosperous 2021 when prayerfully we will receive our new Broncos!

Build:
4DR in Area 51 or Carbonized Gray
2.3L
MIC w/ Headliner
Roof rails w/cross bars (tentative)
Keyless Entry Pad
LUX
Space Gray/Navy Pier Cloth
Aux Switches
Floor Liners
Door Storage Bags
Rock Rails
Tow Capability
Locking Rear Diff w/4.27 gears
MSRP: $50,890

Aftermarket Upgrades:
Roof Rack (if I don't get the Roof rails with my order)
Yakima or Thule Roof Basket
Wrap for Fender Flares and Mirror Caps to match bumpers
Device Rail for Dash
Cup Holders for backseat (How did they miss that?!)
Tailgate mounted fold down table
Steel Wheels or Fifteen52s Analog HD wheels w/BFG K02 Tires

Potential Upgrades:
Level/lift kit if Ford offers one
Engine tune from Ford Performance
Front Bumper with winch if I can find one that does not interfere with the front facing camera.

Last night my wife decided she wants SAS. With the latest B&P update, it looks like OBX is better than WT.

Equipped the same (V6, SAS, Lux, running boards, etc), the OBX is $2000 cheaper. The only differences I see are
1) Interior color choices. All suck but OBX roast+gret is better than WT tan+black
2) mirror cap colour
3) WT has stickers and an extra hero switch (sway bar disco?)

Sounds like we may need to pay 795 for automatic 4x4 PLUS 795 for 4.27 gearing. Bummer. Not sure if that will revert back to 795 for both when BnP gets revised again.

I’m also questioning how much of a need there will be to even get higher gearing.

I am either

A - upgrading tires on stock rims to 265/70/r18 to get standard load - Falken AT3W at 46 lbs. So stock tire of 32.1x10.2 becomes 32.6x10.8. Only half inch more diameter. FYI Stock tires are 41 lbs

B - upgrading tires to 275/70/r18. Stuck in E load. Two best options - E load Toyo AT3, 33.4x11.1 49 lbs. Lightest E load but hearing noisy at highway speed. Or E load Cooper DiscovererAT3 XLT, 33.2x11.2. Quietest and softest E load. But weighing in at 57 lbs, which is 16 lbs per corner!! Could be a MPG killer

C - swap rims to 17s and get KO2s on BL. C load 32.7x11.4, 50 lbs. Maybe slightly larger to say mid 33in, but doubt it

knowing those are my options, do you guys still recommend 4.27 gearing? And any concerns about weight on those Coopers without heavy duty axles?

Thanks.

I have no idea what kind of gearing is on my F150, but I upgraded my tires to 32s and didn't notice a difference in MPG, just a few mph off on the speedometer.

Considering the way the “stickers” look on the Sport FE you aren’t missing anything. They look cheap.

If Ford does in fact charge 795 for automatic 4x4 (it’s currently lo longer bundled with the 4.27 gearing) how many of you will also opt for that?

A. Yes
B. I won't be happy about it.
C. Ford will not care
Seriously though, I have toyed with the idea of getting the automatic 4x4 transfer case but my projected use case, Florida, does not really call for it.

Same. Also sucks about the weight of the BL. I’m going to be in an OBX for a couple k more with less content by the time I get the wheels/tires sorted out.
