Anyone know if the Cactus Grey is metallic? & the white?
Love the non-metallic colors for a more throwback pure look
Cactus Grey looks like a flat paint. Somewhere I saw a list of paints that will have an upcharge and CG was not one of them. Usually the metallics and tri-coat paints have the upcharge. While that's not definitive, all of the photos of CG look like a flat paint. Hopefully, we'll all have a chance to see real-life samples before we have to choose a color.

I suppose i could ask here. I currently have a reservation for a Big Bend. My intention was to go BB plus mid package and 10-spd auto, as well as add any of the other stand alone options that caught my eye.
I have since come to the conclusion that even though the Outer Banks is $5500ish more, it comes standard with 95% of everything that i want. Also comes with body color mirrors, door handles and fender flares (which i really don't care for) so that is also a plus to consider.

Do you know think this is the smarter route to go? (i know this is an OBX thread, but be honest).

Thanks!
If ORB (Ford's designation) has 95% of what you want and you'd need to add-on to another trim like Big Bend to get it, you might spend less overall with ORB. Packages are cheaper overall than á la carte as long as the package doesn't have much that you don't want. However, pricing of trim levels doesn't always follow value. I haven't been able to figure out why Big Bend costs so much more than the Base model, given what few upgrades it seems to have over base.

Right. I was originally thinking that doing so with the Big Bend was going to keep pricing down. However, I don’t think that will be the case when it all comes down to it. I know that it’s all speculation now with no build and price tool yet. Man I can’t wait for that to be released!
Thank you for the input!

My dilemma is the financing. I've basically bought my last 4 vehicles outright... but I've always been under 30k OTD. This one ain't going to be that easy. So CAN i buy any trim or package I want.. sure... but should I .... I dunno.

I just realized that the Wildtrack is basically the OuterBanks that I want minus a few one-off items and that one is 10K more.

It's always the same issue .. for just X more you can get Y... make it stop!!!!!
Outer Banks and Wildtrack are far different from each other. Some of the things on WT different standard are Sasquatch,2.7, painted hardtop

Wildtrack is pretty close to outer banks + big motor + Sasquatch

That tells us that roughly 10k is the add for Sasquatch and motor, which is going to be a ride awakening for everyone once pricing is announced.

Probably 6k Sasquatch and 4k for the motor......
And that pricing doesn't account for the outer banks already having an auto trans as standard, so the motor upgrade charge will be even higher for models with a stick as standard
Wildtrack also comes standard with black painted modular top and the auxiliary switch package.

Who else is on the list for an outer banks?

The wife and I put in for an oxford white 4 door. We plan on getting the 2.7 and the high package. Im a sucker for that huge 12 inch screen.

Oh and of course the modular black hard top roof.
Mine,
If its not too Yellow.
like the orange on Fords site,
But the sport pics I saw, not sure about that.

I think we have to see how the pricing breaks down

The builder going online will answer that question

Yes I am just being impatient. Like most of us here I am sure, eagerly waiting for the build and price tool to drop.

I hope that we don’t crash it too bad on day 1. I feel like I have obsessed enough and crunched way too many imaginary numbers up until now lol.

Hopefully they will have a robust Standalone Options list.
But not likely, the money is in forcing you to buy options you could care less about.
......Glovebox warmer..... paired with adaptive cruise control
Ford is a pretty heinous offender with this. 3 of my 4 cars in my life have been Fords. new 2020 F150s you can't get push button start unless you go with the lariat and up. that is insanity. My 2013 Ford Fusion had that.

I'm right there with you, I'd consider Big bend with options but I think I'm leaning towards OB with high package. Of course that could change greatly depending on how much the options cost

It probably will crash on day 1 but I don't even have a reservation in so I'm going to be waiting a long time regardless, plenty of time to build and rebuild

My 2006 BMW had that and I got that in 2005

On the other side, ford has Android auto as standard today, and you can't add that to bmw at all

Thank you GordoJones for posting the exterior color chart! Putting into words what we see in the chart, it shows that:
  • Area 51, Cactus Gray, and Race Red are offered Big Bend and up (not available on Base trim)
  • Cyber Orange offered Black Diamond and up (not available on Base or Big Bend trim)
  • Non-metallic paints at no additional charge (five total):
    • Shadow Black,
    • Area 51,
    • Cactus Gray,
    • Race Red, and
    • Oxford White.
  • Metallic paints at no additional charge (four total):
    • Velocity Blue,
    • Antimatter Blue,
    • Iconic Silver,
    • Carbonized Gray
  • Metallic paints at extra charge (two total):
    • Rapid Red,
    • Cyber Orange
My favorite color remains Cactus Gray, especially with white roof, grill, flares + white steelies if I could get them. But lots of nice options!

They do have carplay, and they had the nerve to try and sell it as an annual subscription for a short period before they caved in and stopped.

Luxury cars have fallen off in terms of having cool tech vs mass market brands. I just don't see as much value in them anymore.
