I am debating if I should just order MIC for now and buy a real hardtop in 2023. My current car has 135k miles and I was counting on getting my bronco within the next 12months. Today has proven me wrong. If I downgrade to mic and I buy a painted top does anybody know what that pricing would potentially be. My dealer couldn’t provide me with any approximate information. I saw a thread around her that said 4K is that right? Sounds like it would be insane but no way my Lexus makes it to 2023

Probably more. It’s been a while since I looked at the numbers but i think the mod top from the factory is a little under $4k. Add in shipping and parts counter markup and it will be well over. Jeep painted tops are shipped raw and have to be painted by dealer, $800, so that’s a possibility as well.

I would expect $4k to be realistic. Top, Sales tax, paint prep, and paint.

You’re probably right. It’s sure as heck not going to be cheap.
Quadratec is a Jeep discounter. They are selling unpainted JL tops for $3600. You can guarantee the mod top will be more. It will clock in well over $5k.

I feel like going with a soft top and waiting for a hard top might be way to go.

a “Real hardtop”? Seriously?
You have obviously never had a hardtop jeep! (Or don’t ever plan to remove your top)
I’ve had Jeeps for the last 20 years and the tops get banged up putting them off and on.
A painted top will look like crap in a year if used as intended.
The MIC is the way to go in my opinion…
