Had my bronco a few months now. Bought it used with 25k miles. It now has 37xxx miles. 2021 bronco 2.7. Its my daily driver. Took my son for a haircut this morning and parked in the garage. Came out a few hours later and noticed this leak. Dont know how or where its coming from. Or if this is a common issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Is it safe to drive? Would this be covered under the factory warranty?

If you are still under warranty I would take it in, in some cases maybe most seals are not covered. your first pic looks to show the oil is leaking from above and running down. Check the top of the motor towards the back and the valve cover gaskets and see if you have any oil leaks there. My 07 Jeep leaked at the gaskets for the valve covers and did this exact same type of accumulation.

Worst case its a rear main seal but I can't see that with the mileage

I did check the top and nothing visible. Seems to be coming from the bottom end of the motor

Currently have 37k miles on it. So I'm out of warranty for the three year or 36k. If it's the rear main seal will this be covered under the 5-year 60k mile warranty?

From what I am reading seals are covered under the warranty. Considering this is between the engine and transmission or one or the other, it should be under the powertrain 60k warranty which covers engine and trans (powertrain). If that is wrong someone please correct me.

Seals are one of those items that are normally highlighted if they are covered or not, it IS a power-train issue if it is a leaking rear main and should be covered under the 5/60, but if its a seal they can refuse it.

To get a good idea where it's coming from.... pressure wash your engine bay and underneath, then give it a day or with some driving.

Do you have any mods under the hood? Particularly, the oil catch cans. They can fill up and need to be empty.

Mine are installed at the firewall in the center.

Good luck!!!

Looks like a rear main seal leak, which is starting to become a trend on some 2.7’s.
If it is the rear main seal, it’s covered under powertrain warranty. Just bring it to your dealer.

I had the same leak and Ford replaced the Rear main seal at 11,000 miles. I’m keeping an eye on it, making sure it’s fixed.

I'm hoping it's covered on the warranty because I'm not heavily modified but I do have a few modifications. I know the dealers like to play these games with modified Broncos and warranty repairs. My Bronco is a base Sasquatch but I'm running 37 on Fox 2.5 coilovers, anti-rock, turbo smart blow off valve, cold air intake and a few other small mods

Said they were backed up, they don't have any loaner vehicles, and they're trying to get caught up from the holidays. I don't see how any of that is my problem. I bought a vehicle that's under warranty and I'm bringing it in for warranty work.

Tropical Ford here in Orlando services all of our County Sheriff's Office Fleet vehicles, they like to take care of those big account clients rather than help us little guys out
