Portable electric impact driver - Who carries one ?

I scored a Kobalt 1/2" cordless from the Snap On truck for cheap. I keep that in my tool bag. I do have a Milwaukee 1/2" cordless fork work, when I'm too lazy to grab the air hose.

Seems like the general consensus is a portable battery powered impact wrench. No one runs a plug in model ?

If you need to plug one in the vast majority will go with plugging in a pneumatic. Impact. Not real handy on the road but neither is a corded impact. From what I have read the 120v in the Bronco doesn't carry the amperage to drive power tools. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope we have the M28 impact at work. It'll almost twist your wrist off just pulling the trigger without a socket even attached.

Milwaukee FTW - their 18V Fuel line has never disappointed and I’ll bring along my 1/2” high torque impact, compressor & chainsaw.

I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it…

I have a mid and high torque m18 and grab the m12 Stubby 95% of the time.

Milwaukee M12 Stubby 3/8” impact rides with me. Smaller than M18 and plenty strong for lug nuts. I also carry a M12 light. I do have the M18 inflator onboard as well, so I could substitute in the M18 mid torque impact.

Just wondering if anyone has this as part of their onboard tool kit ? If so, any recommendations ?

I got one from harbor freight for my daughter’s vehicle. I tested it and seemed to work fine esp considering how much use it will get. It plugs into the 12volt outlet — no batteries needed.

I have a Dewalt, Ryobi, and Bauer. I use them a lot at work.
Believe it or not the Ryobi is the most powerful and the only one I carry now unless I go on a off-roading trip and then I carry the Dewalt as a backup. I do agree with what someone said earlier.
If you already batteries and chargers, buy the brand to match them. All name brand ones seem pretty good now days.

I am a Dewalt guy (Go Team Yellow), I have a million 20 volt batteries and a mid torque impact that I carry in my storage locker. It shares 1 big battery with my tire inflator. I use the impact on 10" lag bolts instead of hammering tent stakes into rocky soil. Oh, and it works on lugnuts too!
