Powertrain for non-Sas Outer Banks 4-dr if I will immediately be installing 2” spacers + 35’s? …Or is Sasquatch just the way to go?

If this is going to be for style points and not necessarily for function (ie. it stays on the road 98% of the time)... the 3.73 axle will probably work, but I personally wouldn't even consider buying it without the 2.7L engine.

If you are off-roading, the 4.27 axle and 2.7L is basically required. If you want to stick with the 2.3L engine, you'll want to bump up to at least the 4.46 axle that is available in the Black Diamond or Badlands trim. Or, as you said, go Sasquatch.

Whatever you do, don’t stick with that 3.73 gearing if you’re putting 35’s on. Go for the 4.27 if you aren’t Squatching, which is really the way to go.

I'm usually of the thought that most gearing will be fine. But I wouldn't want 3.73s with 35s, especially if you can option 4.27s.

I agree with the above comments, generally. But, I’ve been living with the 3.73 gears and 2.3L motor on 35s for a few weeks and can honestly say it has totally surprised me. I’m guessing the 10 speed transmission has a LOT to do with it, but it’s way zippier than I expected. Off road I’m sure it will be noticeably lacking compared to proper gearing, but have yet to test that theory.

I have 35's with 3.73 gearing and have had zero problems so far. I opted for the spacers instead of the sas package but will say if you have the opportunity to get the sas, do it.
