it's the invincibility gene that sometimes gets turned off after the first accidentIs there a naïveté gene that gets activated when our kids become teenagers? Just asking.

The round things are very short range sensors for parking assist. You have radar if you have the sensors in the round things on the bumper. The big module is behind that plastic screeny looking thingy.
Yep, we were all young once and have some driving stories that fall on us.My grandson rear ended a car a while back.. He and is mom blamed it on the fact that the car in front of him had AEB and stopped fast for another car in front that stopped suddenly. No, he was obviously not paying attention or following to close. He's been through drivers ed, but had never heard of defensive driving. In fairness, I rear ended a car when I was 16, had a Jeep with shit brakes, but still on me...
It does use input from the CCM if equipped for additional information. Not sure if pre collision assist/AEB will use this sensor in addition to the windshield camera or not.
Think I read that they somehow all work together depending on conditions and distance. Saying that, I will admit I don't remember if that was this system or the one for BMW, but what I do know is that if you have the round thingies, you've got the radar, but not sure if it works the other way around, so if you say it does, I believe you.The round things are very short range sensors for parking assist.
The "big module" is used by the ACC and likely millimeter wave radar better suited to longer distances and higher speeds. Not sure if pre collision assist/AEB will use this sensor in addition to the windshield camera or not.
You get front parking aid sensors without ACC if you have the high package.Think I read that they somehow all work together depending on conditions and distance. Do the manuals have the braking as well? Started wondering if because I have a manual that is why it didn’t apply the brakes for me. Would need to have the clutch also be controlled electronically to make it all work?Every Bronco has Pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking.
the 7MT vehicles have AEB. perfectly acceptable to stall the engine when the AEB kicks in.Do the manuals have the braking as well? That's all correct. I am amazed though at how many people here can keep their eye on the road and check their surroundings at the same time. What is the technique? Independently moving eyes? Mirrors?(1) "it happened while she was checking traffic and she was moving into a left lane."
So she was not looking ahead
(2) Bronco does not stop like a "normal" vehicle
So she didn't allow herself enough room
She's not a bad person - could've be any one of us, but she's at fault.
