I spoke to the owner of the dealership face to face, I think he is mistaken and assumes all orders will automagically convert but he is wrong. I called ford customer service and had them “escalate the issue” I am waiting to hear back from a ford rep.
I think you're right. The only reason a 99 is given is if it has an unbuildable aspect or wasn't correctly updated for 2022. That should be all on the dealer's end. Lest we forget what happened to those FE res holders who got screwed in BLs because they were 99'd by their dealers.

Seems like we are at the mercy of our dealers. I can go in, get code changed from 99 to 10-19, get a printout sign etc, then after I leave the dealer can go in the system and 99 the order again, for whatever reason, and there would be no notice from Ford and I would never know…

I asked my dealer about the same on my 10/13 reorder, his response was

It'll change when Ford accepts/verifies the order. They go in and confirm that you had a 2021 order first and then change the 2022 order code when it's verified.

From what I understand you are right but mine is set to 99 which means hold, do not build and it will be passed over until the code is changed to 10-19. Is this a correct statement?
That is absolutely 100% correct.
You need to be 10 thru 19 .... it really doesn't matter which.

Once the priority code is set to 10-19, the dealer can not change it back to 99 on their own.

Only the Ford corporate region/zone level can do that, and will only do so under specific instances.

Have no idea if being a 10 actually matters.
It pretty much does not. They (10 thru 19) are equal in this reservation process. They just mean "clear to build" . 99 means "HOLD" - or "do not schedule".
The time stamp is what matters over the codes.. and then there is dealer allocation 🤬 🤬🤬!

And when clueless (or deceptive - not sure yet) dealer tells me Ford will automatically change it from a 99, what do I do next?

So I’m good? Shouldn’t worry about the 99 at this point?

You should worry. I was replying to the comment that even if your dealer changes you out of 99, they could always just change you back (they can not).

In order for your bronco to be considered for build, it MUST have a priory code of 10-19. Doesn’t matter what it is (on the Bronco), but as long as it’s 99 Ford will think you don’t want it built yet and they will skip you.

The system automatically assigns 99 when a new build is configured, and it’s up to the dealer to set a priority for building once the customer agrees on the terms and wishes to place the order. All “rollover” MY21 to MY22 orders go through this same universal process. Even though you already had an MY21, because it’s a new model year with new options (and normally, new prices), the deal needs to be agreed on all over again. The rollover builds start as 99, customer agrees to any changes, and the dealer codes it a “do build” priority number.

There was a time recently where they were allegedly not allowing the system to have new orders changed from 99… but it sounds like MY22 ordering is open and this is no longer the case.

Your place in line is by time stamp, so as soon as your order priority is changed away from 99, you’ll fall into whatever place you were before, but until then, every round of scheduling that occurs, Ford will assume you don’t want it built.
