Question: your link does not show any sizes anywhere close to ā€œ35-ishā€. Am I missing something ?

I had a set of KO2s and now have Falken WildPeak A/T3Ws on my 2013 F150(Not on 35s).

They both had no noticeable road noise.

I do have to say the KO2s seemed to have been lasting a while, but they were getting very squirrelly in slick conditions. I was also very surprised in a noticeable ride smoothness when I got the WildPeaks as compared to the KO2s. I felt the steering wheel jerking and what seemed like I was jumping all over the road when hitting bumps, etc. with the K02s. With the WildPeaks it feels like the truck is 700lbs lighter, smoother, and easier steering.

Great observations on the Wildpeaks, what load rating were yours please?

Iā€™ve been running Goodyear Duratracs. They are pretty quiet for the first 20000 miles, but get a little noisier from there to the end. And they last a lot of miles. I think the noise comes from the natural uneven wear of running big tires (even with aggressive rotation).

The OEM KMs my Rubicon came with were great off road but noisy, and they only lasted 25k miles.

The FJ my neighbor had, had KOs, and Iā€™ve pulled him out of the mud twice. (He also didnā€™t have lockers.)

I did order a badlands with the optional wheels but left the KOs on. (KOs are standard and known to be good. Territories cost more, shouldnā€™t, and are unknown.) I am going to try them for the first set of tires, and the decide on KOs, Territories or Duratracs from there based on my experience with the KOs and Duratracs, and othersā€™ experience with the Territories.

Some good info here, nice unbiased stuff.

My previous set of Toyo whatever's scared the bejeesus out of me in the rain. Live in the NW, and need decent rain tires. I got a very tame tread on the JK now. Not so great off road, but at least I don't have white knuckles going down the road in the rain.

You can have 35s or quiet tires. Not both

Have Pirelli Scorpion ATs on an Xterra, quiet, good in wet and snow, come 315/75/17. Check tirerack.com for ratings. Also have BFG AT/KO2s on my Frontier, always liked those.

The best all around tire on the market, no competition, is the Michelin LTX Defender. Rain: Amazing. Summer: Good. Winter: Ok. Off Road: ok for spot duty, not an off road tire by any stretch. The only tire I buy for our LT/passenger cars in the family.

That said, there is no perfect tire for all situations. Rubber gets hard in the cold and loses grip, that's why winter tires are mostly made of silica. Silica doesn't wear as well as rubber. Truth is All-season tires will be the quietest, last the longest, but will perform really good in only rain and pretty average to poor in other areas (winter, off road, etc).

I've found modern mud tires to be pretty quiet when cared for. Do get louder as they age due to flat spots.

Sorry for the tire rant...

Recently put Michelin Defenders on my wife's SUV and we were dumbfounded by how quiet they were. On the newer grooved highways all you hear is wind noise -- no road noise at all. Not off road tires by any means tho.

Well worth the $ on an SUV that sees 99% pavement.

I'll second this.

My wife and I have Michelin Defenders on her Ridgeline and my Ram 1500. Great tire on the pavement.

I have 35 KO2's on my 2dr JK, and they are very quiet compared to a lot of others.

I ran KO2's on my Power Wagon (315/70/17's), they have a great reputation and they were pretty quiet on the highway, but I recently put on a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W's on it, not only are they quieter, they seem to have even better traction off road. When I wear out the original tires on my Squatched Black Diamond I'll go with the Falken's for sure.

The Nitto ridge grappler is pretty dang quiet all things considered, and still fairly hefty tread pattern for the off road adventure.

How are those for daily drivers as far as ride comfort and noise level?
