Raptor & Gladiator

I came from a Gladiator. It was nice but the ride was harsh and jarring and the seats super uncomfortable after about a half hour. The ride and comfort level between the Gladiator and Bronco is night and day. I'll admit I do miss having the bed.

Test drove a few back when covid first hit and gladiators had $10k rebates. Just to small to replace a full size truck and didn't track well on the local paved highway. I made sure to drive a fully loaded AEV modded gladiator on 37s and that was the nail in the coffin(talk about hunting gears and 12mpg on the lie-o-meter). I don't think they are bad at all stock, just add a few inches of tire and you will spend another $10k trying to make it work.

All great points. A few things are swaying me to the Gladiator:

1) Doors/Roof off make it WAY more fun
2) Much narrower compared to F150 74" vs 97"
3) Have a Bronco Raptor so would use that on long road trips which is more comfortable
4) Prefer the more utilitarian appearance of Gladiator. If they still made old school Defenders I would have that.
5) Towing capacity & gas mileage aren't that important to me.
6) Resale, probably both similar.

F150 is 79.9" width for the standard 150. The F150 Raptor is 86.6"

Just test drove a Gladiator, that is a rough ride compared to every other vehicle I have owned. Kind of awkward getting in and out of the back for passengers and will certainly need side steps for anyone with some age on them. Seats aren't bad but narrow sitting area. Looks great and has functionality but will look elsewhere. Full size trucks are more than I need. Ranger is not appealing in its current appearance but Tacoma is a contender. May be best to wait for the 2024 upgrade on that model.

Not much of a Maverick fan but now I know the solution. The new 2023 Ranger Raptor when it arrives will be perfect.
