Hi all,
I finally got my 2022 Bronco. But I noticed a rattle when I turn it on and cold but goes away after a few minutes. Anybody else getting this rattle or is this normal? Don’t think so but just throwing out there.
thanks!

I had a front rattle, it was front bash plate, all 4+ bolts were loose.
I have 7MT and when I would push clutch in and shift, the free-rev'ing would make it rattle. This may not be the case for you, but was for me.

7MT - 2.3 - Badlands - nonSas

I have no other rattles

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I made an account just to respond to this thread as I'm having the same issue unfortunately.
It's VERY loud at startup almost like there is a huge exhaust leak but I've layed underneath while someone starts it and felt all around the exhaust with no luck.
It almost sounds like the direct injection system but turned up to 11.

I also have a secondary noise that sounds like an old Chevy with broken pushrods or worn bearings (it's very faint under the primary rattle) that is tied with RPM.

I'll post videos later.

Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this rattle concern. Thanks!

Grabbed a quick video of the sound. There's also a metallic hum or vibration you can hear "under" the loud DI ticking.

Mine sounds like that when it's cold and has been sitting a couple of days. Sounds like a tractor until it warms up.

Mine sounds like this too. My Bronco Sport 1.5L was a bit noisy too.

So do you think it's a normal sound? Drives totally fine, just mega noisy when you start it up, quiets down after it warms up.

I consider it normal, I guess. I think general consensus is that these direct injected ecoboosts are noisy. It runs fine, no issues, getting about 22mpg (2.3L, 7mt, 6500mi), I recently installed a J&L oil catch can. Sounds the same as the day I picked it up. Just had it in to a dealer today for it's second oil change. I didn't mention it being loud but they said there were no leaks, everything still looked new. They gave me a video of an underneath walkaround.

I have the extended warranty, hope I'll never have to use it.

Cold start. Totally normal. Will only get worse as the vehicle gets older!

My BD 2.3 7MT is scheduled for build 10/17, and the J&L catch can is going to be my first mod. The only concern that I have with it is that there's only 1 small mounting bolt for the plate, and I was wondering if you've had any problems with it coming loose or do you tighten it occasionally? Also curious if your Ford dealer said anything to you about your warranty being voided by having the catch can, or did you remove it before the oil change? Thanks!
