Redline hood struts installed

Doesn’t take long, but it’s a tight fit inside the fender area against the hood bracket and bolt connection.

Dropped the wrench into the fender wall, but luckily unscrewing a few connectors at the plastic wheel liner allowed it to drop right out to the ground.

If not for that mishap it would have taken about 15 minutes to install both.

These are great struts. Had mine for 8 months and they are perfect. Easy install like OP says. Took longer to get them out of the packaging than installing.

I would have been like “Welp, I guess that wrench lives there now”

but that’s awesome! Does the hood only have a prop up bar by default? Cuz I will def do this mod if that’s the case, when I finally receive my bronco lol

Yes, all Broncos come stock with the hood prop.

For a second I was, "yep, that wrench stays there for life". You could tap the bottom of the fender and feel, and hear the rattle of the wrench a bit.

I did the rough country, dropped one of nut inserts into the hood. took a magnet to get it out...I'm gonna try the soft top struts next...(iag) wish me luck...

This may quickly turn into a how to retrieve something dropped in the fender thread. I did it and it sounds like lots of people do. (LOL)

Thank goodness that this thing is as modular as it is. A couple of bolts and viola the nut dropped out.

BTW - Hood Struts RULE! one of the best mods I've done.

Received mine last week and installed yesterday. Yep tight fit getting the lower mounts in, after reading post I put a shop rag to keep anything from getting in the finder. I know theirs not much benefit to them but also installed a hood isolator. I just like the way it looks.
