Has anybody tried to relocate their forward facing camera yet? I want to put some custom illuminated letters from ORACLE on the front grille but as the new word is only 5 letters instead of 6 it won't be centered properly unless I move the camera.

I'm also looking at fabricating new aluminum plates to fill in the now empty slot that will stud mount through the existing holes where the BRONCO letters were, and from there I'll mount the Oracle letters. (That part of things I do for a living so I'm set on that.)

Just looking for tips and tricks, or to see if there is any reason to NOT take on this project. I'm guessing I'll need a custom 3D printed frame/housing for the camera in order to place it in it's new location as well as some more heavy duty mounting methods, but I can easily sort that out once I know how feasible this is. I don't have my Bronco yet so I haven't been able to look down in that cavity and see if there is anything preventing this relocation, but I should take delivery in a week and then I can do a little more re-con.

Thank you all for any help and tips; pictures would be incredible if anybody has done this!

JCR Offroad has developed a relocation bracket that allows the camera to be mounted right above a winch on their new bumper. They are a forum sponsor and have several threads going. I think their Vanguard Bumper thread shows it.

Awesome, thank you! Hopefully someone here has used that and can chime in!

I found the thread and relevant posts…

Here is First attempt on the front camera relocation. It’s going to need to be taller, but the concept worked.

We made some progress on front camera relocation. Need to cut one more prototype.

I'm interested to see if it eventually throws a code for the camera being 'out of alignment'.

I know such codes *exist* but can they be triggered simply by moving the camera up like this? Hoping not -- it shouldn't have any difficulty stitching the image together

That’s my main concern, I guess I’ll be the Guinea pig here!

I always have a theme build with my vehicles, my cyber orange Bronco has been christened Juicy (long story, think OJ “The Juice”, and…well… OJ the juice.)

A bronco named Juice? Yeah, that’ll go well.

Maybe add a personalized license plate with Nordberg and some Hertz stickers?

Maybe it’s “Juicy Couture” for all people know. It’s her Bronco, she can name it “Jeep” for all I care (Please don’t).

I shudder to think that anybody would associate me with Juicy Couture and crappy velour jumpsuits but I’m sure it’ll happen.

There comes a point in life where you really just can’t give a shit and decide to make your own fun and that’s where I’m at! I love naming my cars and doing themed builds (no kids, no pets, no spouse so my cars get the leftover energy and $). As seen time and time again on these types of forums somebody is always going to hate it or think it’s dumb, but it’s fun to me so off I goooooo!
