Got around to installing my RC 2 inch cube lights for the rear bumper.
This was not really straightforward and the rear AUX wire is a major PITA to get to, lol.
Purchased off Amazon:
-Flood lights for $70 (open box- Rough Country 2" Black Series Square CREE Cube LED Lights | Flood - 70133BL https://a.co/d/gub9X9V).
I started by routing the harness under the exhaust heat shield and through the grommet in the truck storage. Then routed under the floor to the main side harness that goes to the tailgate.
Then I went in search of the rear AUX wire...why Ford made it this hard to reach I am not sure...kids shoe helped me prop the passenger panel open a bit, lol. I free'd the AUX wire (white/orange I think) and then ran my harness to it.
Then I reused the ground from the harness and used one of the nearby bolts.
Then connected the positives to the AUX wire.
The next step was going to the glove box to connect the rear AUX to the white power wire (again, why make this an additional step Ford...).
Then I wired it up under the hood to AUX switch 6.
Moving to the back I then installed my brackets. I noticed the steel bumper had holes on the driver side but not on the passenger side. So I drilled a matching hole for my brackets.
Drive side:
Drilled and sprayed the passenger one I made:
Installed the brackets.
Then aligned the lights.
Ran their wires to the connectors by the heat shield.
Tested them out for more aiming.
Then tightened everything down.
Popped the grommet back in and tidied the wires.
