Hi folks,

hoping to get some insight. I have a 2 inch lift using Eibach springs to accommodate 40 inch tires. All is well and good, until I load anything of any weight in the back of my Bronco. The backend sags so badly I can’t load much of anything in the back, much less be able to go camping or hook up bikes or something. Any recommendations on how to stiffen it up in terms of any spring recommendations or other ways?

You need springs rated to a heavier weight that still give you lift. Progressive springs could work too

Hey OP, I’ve been waiting for a post like this. Panda Motor Sports has the heavy duty spring BUT the won’t split. I am wanting HD up front and regular on rear. Let me know if you are interested in working something out. Panda is local to me so I can get face time and work out the logistics.

Two options:
Hyperco HD Springs (these have been working well for us)
Sumo Springs Coil Spacers (we use these for towing but leave them in most of the time as ride is not impacted on road).

I have no idea if this is going to quote the guy above as I'm new to the forum, but curious about the spacers you mention. I take it the spacers don't make the Bronco taller, but simply makes the springs compress more and therefore more stiff?

Depends - there are both kinds-

Top hats don’t affect the spring and will just add straight lift - but affect axle geometry. The go on top of the coil over.

Clips, adjustable rings, etc affect the spring compression to add lift, and impact ride quality and load bearing, but don’t affect geometry

Body lift pucks just add straight body lift and don’t affect anything directly on the drive line - pretty much just for the purpose of stuffing in bigger tires

Here you go:

https://superspringsinternational.com/coil-sumosprings/

Easy to slide in with suspension unloaded. Rides great loaded or not. We were planning to only use with towing but haven't removed. Will pull them for off road.

Great solution for load carrying. Essentially like air bags but easy to put on and take off.

Ah. I see. Never heard of those Sumo Springs. Interesting concept. Problem is, i think these Eibach springs suck so bad that I can't see me ever taking a sumo coil off and it seems like a good temporary fix, versus long term.

I really want to find a way to stiffen the spring, maybe increase a little height, but not cause issues with my Fox shocks.

If someone who knows a lot more than me can chime in on the following i would really appreciate it. I find that a lot of shops don't really know the right parts, whereas this forum is stacked with knowledge.

Here's what I'm thinking. Keep the 40s. I know a lot of people don't like em, but I love em and haven't had issues. The only issue is this horrible sag. So, I want to remove the 2" Eibach springs altogether and put these Hyperco springs on. Is this the right part?

https://www.hypercoils.com/shop/hyp-4x-05-02-02

My goal is nothing wild. I simply want to be able to go camping and load up the car and not have it sitting on the tire. Or, I want to put some bikes on the bike and there's no way that's gonna happen right now.

To answer you @davids240 , a few members in this thread I think went down the path you are on; I'm watching because of sagging issues and now holding off on the Eibach HD route.

Install spring perches. I had to do it with my Eibachs to get them to proper height. If you have the progressive springs like mine, the ride just fine
